Traditional sicilian street food

We went there twice. The first time, we ate on the terrace outside. We have had a mix of Sicilian specialties. I was a little bit disappointed because I wanted to eat something fresh and healthy but my plate was full of oil, frying, and offal. Yes the genuine sicilian street food is fat. As we were... read more

We crossed by this restaurant by accident looking for an early dinner. It is not fancy.. it is a very simple restaurant. We had very good sandwiches, a very tasty eggplant caponata and deliciuos cannoli.

Very attractive place where you can be served upstairs looking at the Focacceria from the balcony! Try their arancina, big rice ball stuffed with mozzarella, ham or ragu, the focaccia are also delicious but all the natives come for their pasta!!! Dating from 1849, this place has a wonderful feel and look, a must see & try in Palermo💖

An historical and monumental focacceria in need for an upgrade. I went for dinner on a saturday night to discover that there was only one person serving, dealing with the cashier and giving drinks. After waiting 20 mins, I finally asked and I was told to wait more. When I realised that the only thing that didn't contain meat in... More

Inexistent service, 30 minutes wasted in 4 different queues although I'm a native speaker, confusing names of the dishes, mediocre quality and touristy atmosphere. Avoid.

My first experience of Sicilian food in cafe style bar. Prices very reasonable - wine by the glass was 2 euros. Tried arancini balls with rice and vegetables, aubergines stuffed with tomatoes & sardines etc. You can take out from the counter or choose what you want and sit inside. They did give you plastic plates and cutlery, which seemed... More

A really rather nice meal at a 'must visit' restaurant. We sat outsiders the evening. The traditional Sicilian spaghetti with anchovies were delicious. Service was efficient but with little interaction from the staff. Despite having an ice cream shop, there was no ice cream for dessert.

I had read a lot of good things about this place and it was recommended in my guidebook, but my family and I were disappointed. The food was quite greasy and heavy, and more expensive than other restaurants we went to in Palermo that were a lot better. The portions were generous and service was fine, but not extraordinary. The... More
