Had a very good two courses here, interesting and very well cooked. But the ambience and service leaves something to be desired. It was half empty and very quiet. Service was efficient rather than friendly.

This place was great! My friend and I actually ended up going 2 nights in a row. The owner was the Italian grandmother you always wish you had. She hugged us when we came in, introduced us to the chiefs and constantly checked on us. The food was the best pasta I've had in my 4 months in Italy. They...

Disastrous restaurant with awful food - we came here because it was recommended in the Micheline Sicily guide, we were the only ones dining there until a coach load of 30 tourists showed up (clearly the guides must get a commission otherwise they wouldn't bring customers here). My risotto was tasteless and very liquid - stay away at all costs!
Thanks to the hotel reception we were booked at the Capricci for a night out, during our convention in Palermo.
The place, right off the Politeama theatre, walking distance from our hotel, is runned by a charming lady together wit a couple of waitresses, non men around, as we learned they are only suppose to cook!! and the cuisine is...

As recommended in our guide, we decided to visit this restaurant. The place was only filled with other tourists and no Italians. The food was Ok but we were charged 60 euros for a fish for two sidedish excluded and ended up with a 100 euros bill. The staff was not very friendly either. There are plenty of other options...

The worst of the restaurants we visited in Palermo for the same price and the only one to have a cover charge ((E3) for stale bread). Visit Ai Vecchietti and L'Acanto instead.
This restaurant was the only bad experience on our holiday on Sicily. We went there because the restaurant was recommended in a book about Palermo. The food was pretty bad at best compared to other restaurants we visited and the service is absolutely terrible: the waitress seemed like she was pissed at us for choosing to eat there and thereby...

Capricci is mentioned in lots of guide books, probably because so many editors and writers are too lazy to research new choices.
Here's the deal: This restaurant, established decades ago, used to be quite good (I first ate there around 1990). But things changed. New places sprung up all over the neighbourhood, and a few of them were fantastic.

This was the restaurant which was recommended by our hotel. We were so disappointed. The restaurant was quite nice, service not great and food shocking; it was lukewarm, portions small and expensive for what it was- completely lacking in any culinary talent eg my "antipasto" starter for 10euros was caponata, fried potators, a mini pizza thing and some potato rissoles-...
