I love Haiku!

I love eating at Haiku because apart from the food being delicious and a high quality, the atmosphere is lovely, the staff friendly and attentive and the garden during the summer months is absolutely stunning, and i almost forget that i am still in a big, congested city. Being vegetarian it makes a welcome change to be able to choose... More

On holiday in Sicily and made a special trip to Catania to go to Haiku, and it did not disappoint. Had to walk across the city in 30 degree heat, but it was so worth it. We speak a little Italian and the waitress spoke a little English, so we opted for the mixed plate with 3 things each, not... More

I'm always happy finding a vegan restaurant in a new city, but I'm not always so happy with the food. Sometimes, vegan food can be bland, too reliant on oil, or completely unimaginative (a veggie burger? shocker!). In the case of Haiku, though, I thought the food was delicious. They use the best of what Italy offers and integrates the... More

Just happened across this place on the night of summer solstice. A vegan buffet was the style for the evening. We chose the outside court yard to dine in under a wonderful tree. Very divine. I would go back. All fresh home made organic food amazing.

There's no excuse, in the depths of southern Italy, for making glop and calling it risotto. Vegetarian food doesn't have to be grey and boring.

Particularly healthy amongst the pollution of Catania. Tasted harmonious. Macrobiotic and vegan and I think caters for other things too but all vegan. They seem a little unsure of prices . . . O well we didn't speak enough Italian . . Costs a little over 20 euros for a main course for two.

Finally went to this place after meaning to for months and it didn't disappoint! Five of us shared two antipasti platters which were nice but kinda pricy and not as amazing as the main dishes (and didn't feature the guacamole, alas!) I had pizza with spinach, olives and mushrooms and it was delicious! Then we had tiramisu which is the... More

We were so lucky to find this one. Thanks to HappyCow,com . It didn't look much from the outside. BUT once we descended to the outside courtyard, the atmosphere was brilliant. The service was great and friendly, and the food was DELICCCCCIOUS. A place one could take non veggie friends to without having to apologise that there was no meat!... More

Amazing place, extremely tasty food. I recommend the shared platter of antipasti for two. Very friendly staff and beautiful courtyard at the back. Nice selection of teas and really nice sauces. Definitely a must if you want/need something different than pizza-pasta.
