Dined here on a Tuesday night on a 1 night stay in Catania. We were looking for another place that turned out to be closed and Vineria Picasso was across the street. We were the first table seated outside in the road at around 8:15PM. We had 5 waiters all to ourselves for a while until other people reluctantly straggled... More

Vineria Picasso is located very near the center of Catania - it is on a small street and the best place to eat is at one of the street tables. The food is great - service is attentive, and they have an extremely wide selection of wines, through which the waiter will ably guide you. The antipasto table is varied... More

Went there on the advice of our B&B on our first evening in Sicily. We tried the local typical dishes: antipasti, pasta al pistacchio and it all tasted good. The setting of the room was very nice eg walls covered with wine bottles. The disappointment was being recommended the house wine (pretty basic) given the large amount of choice. Good... More

Very intimate with outstanding food and winelist. Winelist is actually the wine on shelves on the wall. Owner is very wine oriented. Only downside is that the waitstaff when we visited consisted of only one waiter and the owner. It got busy and that delayed things a bit.

I have a lot of international friends and business associates who come to Catania and this is where I always take them to eat dinner for an excellent casual meal. Picasso is an upscale trattoria with mom and pop still in the kitchen. That said you won't find better perpared local dishes anywhere else in the city. There's a freshness... More

I am originally from Catania but lived in England most of my life and had very high expectations for this restaurant that promised to deliver authentic Sicilian food. We waited over an hour for our starters and it was a good two hours before our mains arrived. To make matters worse the waiters and owners were incredibly arrogant and when... More

The antipasti buffet was excellent and so Tagliatelle with almond and pistachio cream. The wine selection above the expectation and the price reasonable. High recommended, if available, at the end of your meal some fico d'india...sweet and refreshing !

Pasta with pistacchios and mushrooms really good. Had a good and different, but sicilian, dinner. Everything we ordered was good, the meat and salad, too.

I had delicious pasta with porcini mushrooms and pistachios here. House wine wasn't great. Service was over-stretched (but it was a busy night in August). A touch on the pricey side, but the quality of the food probably justifies it.
