Signor Francesco ed Alessia make the experience outstanding. Here you will find the best antipasto and horse grilled meatballs in Catania. The sarde a Beccafico and pasta al nero di sepia, swordfish, or sugo di sarde al finocchietto are simply delicious. Excellent value for your money.

This trattoria is excellent! Kindest staff possible, very good prices and superb food! Antipasti are excellent ....though to eat only one plate of these phenomenal flavorful (freshly made every day) dishes. Ask for pasta specials to Signor Francesco or to Alessia and they will kindly offer the specialties of the day. Try swordfish pasta and pasta al nero di sepia.... More

Efficiently run by a brother and sister team this little trat has tables set out in a narrow street that barely leaves enough room for the (fortunately) light vehicle traffic. Horse meat is a particular delicacy in Catania and after the superb help yourself antipasti we had a plate of mixed horse and pig meat with some excellent chips. The... More

Do not miss gli antipasti ....simply delicious!! Very good local red wine. Le sarde a becafico are delicious as well as pasta con sugo di sarde al... More

Really good food, loved the fish soup. Starters terrific. Very kind staff. Would recommend to people, but be aware soon crowded after 8:30pm. Don`t come too late when you are hungry and need some food asap. Otherwise, enjoy a Gin Tonic next door in a bar and wait for a table. Relaxed atmosphere! Prices low, although food of high quality.

My title is not based on comparisons but conjecture - I had nothing to compare it with! But I (we) went to U Fucularu for every one of the four nights we had in Catania - no reason to go anywhere else; wonderful staff (family run), great local cooking and terrific atmosphere. In fact it was the best cooking we... More

Went there on a saturday night and the location is very lively, good place to observe the partying teenagers in the bars nearby. The food was below expectations: grilled mix vegetable antipasti was pretty much tasteless and undercooked, pasta were ok although not very elegantly served, and the involtini (those that could actually be served since at least 2 of... They hosted dinner for really big group, probably 40 or 50 people that evening. Probably all waiters and kitchen staff were busy with this party, so our dinner was disaster: service was horrible – we asking for something, it did show up in 10-20 min, then we need to ask again, preparation time was taking forever, food was so-so, bill...
