The Best

Found this trattoria when walking around the little streets of Catania. The lady was very friendly and sweet. We had the local antipasto followed with the best home made pasta along with some grilled fish. Did not have room for dessert. Will surely return once back in Catania. Sonia & Victor

Huge menu, very reasonably priced and adorable little trattoria. But everything we wanted and our back up options were not available so we ordered alternates which were just OK. The house wine was alright- a deal for $8/liter. We arrived there early at 7:30 so we missed the rush. The wait wasn't terrible so try to get there early. Would... More

Have been here quite a few times over the years. This time however we were all disappointed by the food and the very long wait. The caponata was nothing like a real caponata, and the pasta, though good, was not worth the extremely long wait (and I am used to waiting, but not to such a ridiculous extent). The tables... More

Service was good, food was excellent. We were the only tourists after a neighbouring table of two departed so only about 8 tables in all. Under €40 for the two of us with shared starter plat, 1/2 litre of red, sparkling water, mains and desserts.

Unpretentious and welcoming. We ate here on a Saturday night and just managed to get a table before the evening rush. A lot of reviews highlight the slow service but we didn't feel that it was any longer to wait than most places we tried in Sicily. The house red was excellent and the food was delicious. We had a... Pasta a la Norma - fantastic. Incredibly good value. House white wine superb, lovely smell of honey from it. We knew from Lonely Planet Guide that service would be slow but it was definitely worth the wait.

Good Sicilian food. I'm told the pasta is made on the spot - of course it takes a little longer but the sauce was fresh and full of flavour. After a huge plate of gnocchi with tomato and mozzarella sauce I could only eat half my salsiccia so I got a takeaway pack. Not expensive - and comfortable for a... More

Before writing about the food, I will give a warning about the restaurant and their acceptance (not) of credit cards. They have a Visa sign prominently displayed on their door, but they told me my Visa card had been "declined." I had used this same card extensively prior to this restaurant and regularly on the remainder of my trip, and... More

We lived just around the corner. Spent the whole day in Taormina and were tired. Found this place walking home from the bus. Did not feel like going home to shower and change because of the 5 flights of stairs I would have had to climb. On entry we found photos of the family adorned the walls. In my book... More
