This little side street trattoria was mentioned in our guidebook as a reasonably-priced, family-run place to eat. The cooking is done by the elderly matriarch, and on the night we went, there was just one waiter serving about 25 tables. This was causing problems for some customers, but we were not in a hurry, so we waited. We weren't disappointed... More

What happened here? Following a well known travel guide's recommendation, we ended up asking for pasta alla Norma at supposedly its best purveyor. Granted, it was modelled to look like mount Etna but it was only ok. Now, what made this a farcical experience was the waitress who asked other guests for change (to break the fifty the first guests... More

I had a mixed starter that was so overcooked that it felt like eating mashed potatoes. Pasta la Norma came literally 1 hour after I finished my starter and although the pasta tasted quite well it was definitely not worth it. Afraid of the further wait I moved to another place for a dessert. There was only one waiter for... More

We visited here twice had the signature dish Pasta alla Norma the first time ...fantastic! We booked for our last night again two amazing dishes, when we asked for Rosanna's zeppoline di ricotta a dessert she invented, we were told it wasn't on that but they knew it was our last night and Rosanna's very kindly made it for us!... We were trying to find a non touristy restaurant. This one was not it. The service was slow, took 45 minutes for our meal to arrive. Pasta was overcooked. Do not recommend.

We shared the mixed starter (2people) and it was amazing! A plate with lots of tasty vegetables, Italian cheese, olives, eggplant with ricotta cheese, Italian style potatoes. For the main course we had a pasta a la Norma and the gnocchi with tomatoes. Both were very good and tasted authentic and homemade!! We had a half liter of wine and... More

Our hotel recommended this restaurant and we ordered some allegedly typical dishes like Pasta Norma, and Pasta with salmon and we could not eat the food, because it was too spicy. The waitress also gave us a chill, we were afraid to complain about the food. I pretty much think that the restaurant lives only on guests from different hotels.... More

We went to this trattoria on the recommendation of our hotel, whom we had asked for a restaurant which served genuine Sicilian food and which had vegetarian dishes. It fulfilled all our expectations. We sat at one of the tables outside (which they put out around 7.15-7.30 pm), had a mixed plate of antipasti, which was delicious, which I followed... More

I cannot see why all this fuss about this trattoria. Apart from the pasta alla norma, which I must admit is really delicious, nothing is up to edible standard. Meat was served as tough as a horseshoe, antipasto was boring. I wouldn't rate this restaurant 5 stars just for a signature dish. How many times am I expected to return... More

Very cosy ambiance, nice service and excellent pasta! We sat outside and enjoyed the nice weather, we had made a reservation but several people came without reservations so they had to wait around 30 minutes to be seated
