It maybe be off-putting to someone looking for great interiors, but once the food lands on the table you quickly realize this people put all care and attention into making good food. Reasonably priced.

We were reccomended this place by our hotel and found it to be a simple place that serves you your fish with great skill. We had the baked fish with potato, olives and tomato. Simple but good. Your fish is deboned in front of you andvthen served. The mixed grilled fish seafood was not as good as the baked fish.... More

We had lunch at Il mare and loved it. We tried the antipasti tutto il mare: for 13€ I could not imagine to have so many different plates with so many tastes... then somes pasta al pistacio and sword fish, mmmmmm. We could not eat a dessert even though they looked delicious because we were completely full! This restaurant is... More

I am Italian and I love the Sicilian kitchen. Moreover, I can usually eat and well sustain almost any dish you can imagine. Almost. First, with my wife we've been accommodated in the warmest corner, without air conditioning. I had to ask more than twice to make it be switched on. Second, the fish is not exacly fresh and the... We were recommended this family run trattoria by our host Cristina at 5 Balconi, the B&B we were staying at in Catania. We weren't sure that the restaurant was open when we arrived. There were no other diners and no staff to be seen. We looked into the kitchen and after some brief miscommunications, we were led into another room... More

We found the restaurant again by accident as we were walking around in Catania. All I can say is that this is one of the best restaurants ever. The food is amazing and the service is great, lovely people there. We wen't back again on the next day and we would've gone there every night if our holiday wasn't over.... More

My friend read on tripadvisor about the place, so this is how we discover it. It was much more than we expected. The food is spectacular. Sea food, fish, pasta in a lot of combinations made this experience a remarkable one. We eat almost every day there, trying to taste all the goodies from the menu. The people are very... More

We found the restaurant by accident on our first night in Catania. It was just a small bistro with simple decorations and limited seating. I think the maximum number of diners is 32. The restaurant is clearly a family-run affair and they are really confident that they know what they are doing, so much so that they have no hesitation... More

This place was recommended, and turned out to be the best meal we had in Sicily. Spaghetti with pistacchio for first course, then baked fish with potatoes and tomatoes for the second course. I thought we were ordering one main course each, but they presented us each a pasta for 1st course and fish for 2nd course. It took a bit... More

Glad to have found this restaurant on our final night in Sicily. The fish was beautiful and the service was attentive and thoughtful. Just brilliant!
