Overall good experience

We enjoyed the pizzas and some great rd wine and the service was really, really good. They serve you as a starter some different types of traditional bread and some olive oil, but we did not try them as we did not know their cost. Also, water, beer, coffee - they were not shown in the menu. We... read more

this restaurant used to be one of my favorites in Catania specially when I'm in the centre . It turn to be a factory of food it lost it charm it's a shame !! Just had a bad experience with a main course which was tackled in a real bad manner ! I've ordered a grouper it turned to be... More

This is a very popular, up beat establishment in a charming bistro packed central street tucked away next to via Etna, not the finest food (my pizza was less than piping hot!), but fun, fast and clearly successful.

I loved their pizza and the staff was very kind and friendly. Great wine, wonderful pizza and very nice people working there. My # 1 spot for pizza in Catania.

We had an excellent meal selected from a very imaginative menu and it was reasonably priced. It gets busy quite early on in the evening, it was recommended by our hotel receptionist.

A good organisation and management pays back immediately We hardly visited a restaurant able to handle so many tables and incoming people in such a nice, polite and good manners as the guys of Il sale are doing. The meal is really very good one, the many waiters keep watching your desk in case of any need and the kitchen... More

It is a lovely restaurant on a road that only comes alive at night. They use their own produce oil which is very tasty.iIt was recommended by our hotel as we were only after having a pizza. But what a pizza we got, a simple margarita very tasty with lots of cheese and the one with asparagus had lots of... More

First class food and service with great wine to complement the food. The initial serve of breads was a welcome surprise with a great range of flavoured breads. I then had a fennel and orange salad with nuts and dried fruit to start. It was very refreshing. Followed with beef with smoked buffalo mozzarella, also excellent and cooked exactly as... More

The presentation of food was great but I found the combination of flavours in the food didn't work together. Over 100 euros for bottle of wine and 3 courses for me and my husband. The most expensive place I ate at in Catania and my least favourite. Also the service in between courses was very quick and I felt they... More

Recommended by our host at the B&B we stayed at. Very helpful and friendly staff. Menu is in Italian and we needed some assistance which was willingly forthcoming. Food quality was excellent and their wine recommendations matched perfectly. We came back for a second evening during our 4 night stay in Catania. Try the pork main meal which is served... More
