Delicious food, great value

A great place to sample the local cuisine and regional seafood specialities cooked to perfection. We found ourselves here through suggestions and reviews and were certainly not disappointed. A great place to sample the local cuisine and regional seafood specialities cooked to perfection. We found ourselves here through suggestions and reviews and were certainly not disappointed. We ate at a table outside, in the laneway, which was wonderful, though a little busy with the local traffic parking next to us. The night air made up for the noise,... More

Visited this place last week, the staff are extremely friendly, the service is excellent, the atmosphere is great, food is delicious and they have a good local wine selection deserts. All that at a very very reasonable price. A must if your are in Catania center. Highly recommended.

I dinned at this restaurant with a bunch of friends who already knew it and we were very satisfied. We had a bunch of mixed starters than didn't seem to finish and seconds (mostly grilled fish). Everything was very fresh and well cooked in a traditional sicilian way. Even the wine was pretty good, The real surprise was when we... More

I strongly advice this trattoria for everyone who visits Catania. Wonderful seafood, warm frienship, reasonable prices. I made a restaurant list of 20 places before coming to Catania. After arrival, during our first day, I asked for information about my restaurant list, and local people adviced Paranza for fish. Antonio, one of the staff, welcomed us, we looked at the... More

We arrived unannounced off the street having arrived very late by boat but were welcomed in a very friendly way. We picked the place completely at random but noticed it was doing a good trade, mainly with locals and as the evening progressed it filled up more & more until there was quite a 'buzz'. The menu is typically Italian... More

A couple of old men sitting outside a gelateria recommended Trattoria Paranza when we asked them to recommend a place with delicious fish options. We were glad to have listened to them! Even though we were a bit early (hungry since we had an early breakfast before flying to Catania from Milano), Francesco invited us in and made excellent recommendations.... More

When a restaurant / trattoria in Sicily is good.......then it's good. Sicilian chefs have an incredible way of bringing out flavor from the food they cook - it's balanced, tasty and makes the simplest dishes a pleasure to eat. But for a restaurant to be great service is key and unfortunately despite being very polite the service in this trattoria... More

Trattoria La Paranza would have all the conditions to be a real genuine fish restaurant, but it turned into half a disappointment for me. It should be made clear that you can eat fish and only fish at La Paranza. Antipasti are really excellent and in particular the rough fish is very fresh and delicate: certainly a plus. Similarly primi... More

The best place in Catania to spend a nice evening and eat really excellent food - fishes and sea food. The atmosphere and service are very good.
