Tasty seafood traditionally made and very good value

We ate here one evening because the more upmarket seafood place next door was fully booked that evening. While La Paglia doesn't look particularly great, we really enjoyed our meal. Quaint, unpretentious and pretty good food. I liked this restaurant. The food across the board was solid but not fantastic. The white table wine was very nice esp for table wine and the staff was incredible. Spent a very nice afternoon spent having lunch in the fish market. Not too shabby.

Situated right in the heart of the Pescheria (fish-market), La Paglia is an almost "run-down" looking place - but don't let this deceive you! The food is fresh and the taste excellent. The owner - Ignazio - is very friendly and helpful too. His recommendations were spot on. We had oysters to start with, then pasta with sea urchins and... More

Laid-back, simple Trattoria in the fish-market which, despite its seemingly low prices, does not offer value for money for what one eats and for the service one gets.

The service was poor and not very friendly. Our caponata starter was OK as was the sardine starter, but it wasn't clear from the menu that you needed to order the number or sardines you wanted, so it turned up somewhat lonely and lost on the plate. The pasta Norma was pretty average, dried pasta was disappointing. The fish stew... More

Amazing fresh fish and seafood. Very informal environment and cool treatment from the employee. The sword fish was perfectly grilled and very fresh. You should try the white wine with the same name as the restaurant.

This restaurant is right on the fish market piazza. Locals are eating here, which is a pretty good sign. We had aubergine salad, octopus salad, pasta vongole (with clams) and pasta with a sort of sardine paste and bread crumbs. The first 3 were outstanding, the latter so so. The waiter was very friendly and made us suggestions. We had... More

A very good surprise. Very unpretentious place. I felt at home. You can choose the fish you want to eat and how you want it cooked. Would like to have the chance to eat there every week.
