Great Fish Restaurant

Located directly next to the fish market, the restaurant is a great place to get fresh fish. They do really good standard dishes. The pasta vongole were amazing and the service really nice. Would definitely recommend going there for good pasta and fish!

It was a Saturday lunchtime and the fish market was scrubbing down to a close. This trattoria has tables alongside fish market stalls as well as inside but we thought watching the last of the market trade might be entertaining. The menu was pretty limited but service was swift. Quality: train station. Prices: mid-restaurant! Overall an easily forgettable experience.

I went in this trattoria with my cousins, we waited 30 minutes the waiter (he was alone) another 30 minutes for 3 dishes and we ate raw pasta allo scoglio. Well I didn't like the answer of the waiter. "Is not raw, is "al dente"" well it was raw, super raw. At least when he understood this, he make a... More

I went for dinner and the whole meal ticked all my expectations. Food is simple but really good. Service is simple too but efficient. The whole place is really charming and I like the simple style of it. Food is really good and seafood fresh. I really recommend this place.

Went for lunch with my sister based on recommendations from trip advisor and honestly have to say this is my least favourite meal on my trip so far and this is day21. We ordered the tomato and aubergine pasta: there's one small piece of aubergine on top and some cheese powder scattered on top. The pasta sauce taste like the... More

Very close to duome area. The place is like fish market with some restaurants around. La paglia is one of the best. The price is lower if you compare with the fancy ones in the center. Etna bianco wine is very tasty.

We ate here one evening because the more upmarket seafood place next door was fully booked that evening. While La Paglia doesn't look particularly great, we really enjoyed our meal. This place serves quite simple, traditionally made seafood. No nonsense, good flavours and low prices. Being right next to the fish market, the seafood was very fresh too. We had... More

Quaint, unpretentious and pretty good food. I liked this restaurant. The food across the board was solid but not fantastic. The white table wine was very nice esp for table wine and the staff was incredible. Spent a very nice afternoon spent having lunch in the fish market. Not too shabby.

Situated right in the heart of the Pescheria (fish-market), La Paglia is an almost "run-down" looking place - but don't let this deceive you! The food is fresh and the taste excellent. The owner - Ignazio - is very friendly and helpful too. His recommendations were spot on. We had oysters to start with, then pasta with sea urchins and... More

Laid-back, simple Trattoria in the fish-market which, despite its seemingly low prices, does not offer value for money for what one eats and for the service one gets.
