In the fish market area behind the main square with attractive but simple outside tables. The starter of sea food risotto was excellent and a most promising start. Then everything fell apart, the fish, recommended by the waiter was not fresh, it was tough and second rate and I was over charged. Came with nothing just the fish. Disappointed and... More

Very casual restaurant just off the fish market. Food was excellent. Seemed to be frequented by locals too which is a good sign. Fast service. No fuss, so no wipes offered. :) But that is no reason to miss trying this place! Selection of antipasto was varied and the fresh fish, although served solo, was the excellent.

Great location right in the market, but poor service. And when we asked for a glass of house white wine - we were told you could only buy a Euro 15 bottle. Decent insalata del mare, but I wouldn't recommend this place because of the poor service. And drinking Diet Coke didn't add anything to our fish eating experience.

Based on reviews we decided to try this restaurant. The market is fabulous and being well travelled tourists we have always found that to eat in a fish market at lunchtime is pretty well authentically fresh and tasty. The starter was a cold sardine in a not very nice batter. The prawns although very nice came on a plate solo.... More

What an experience! Right in the heart of the fishmarket. The waiter is the World's laziest man which is a fun bonus - he had a cheeky fag before he could be bothered to go and get our starter. They got busy quickly though and you could see why. He poured us a nice big glass of wine we were... More

This is the cheaper of 2 restaurants close together (see also Antica Marina) - fairly small, wipe-clean tablecloths and a bit on the dowdy side. It's hard to know what's on the menu from the outside, and the inside menu in English was a pretty old and grubby photocopy... but then there was at least a menu in English. Can't... More

When visitng an area, it is always good to listen to the locals. They directed us to this small restaurant. We loved every bite. The calimari was fresh, cooked to perfection. The salad with wonderful tomatoes was so tasty. The pasta in squid ink was delectible. I would not hesitate to eat there again and again. It is walking distance... More

Had lunch in there and was our most disappointing meal so far in Sicily. The Clam soup was tasteless and came out fairly cold, my fried seafood was very bland and the seafood did not taste fresh. On the upside was the fantastic location, doesn't get better than this sitting right on the edge of the fish market. They had... More

What would you expect at a fish market? Simple and good. Pranws were great, so was the caponatta, the simple pasta. And YES they do not speak english, neither do they have to. This is Sicily. It is so ignorant to think that everyone should do. The house wine was good, it was cheap, I'd come back any day here.
