We ate at this small restaurant twice during our stay in Catania. The owner/chef could not have been nicer. We put ourselves in his hands, and did not order from the menu. He simply asked if we wanted meat or fish. The fish was remarkably fresh, bought in the famous market that day. The orange salad with pistachios and olive... More

We arrived at 3pm for lunch, as we had gotten carried away with visiting Catania. The owner was so kind to seat us in the empty restaurant and provide us great service. He spoke french really well and he was super nice and answered some of our cultural questions, such as "what time should we eat lunch?". The service was... More

If this place hadn't been mentioned in our travel guide, we would never have thought of trying it out. The food was really nice, though, and the chef sticks to the good values of slowfood.org. The appetizer was a bit too oily, though, which I didn't particularly like, but the tuna with sweet onions was just lovely. The service is... More

We ate very well at this restaurant two years ago. unfortunately the chef seems to have lost all interest in what he is serving up. Nothing tasted very much of anything.

Enjoyed two meals. The chef speaks English and came to discuss what we would like to eat. The waiter friendly and helpful. RIght opposite our B&B Crociferi.

We were in a tour group and arrived in Catania on a Sunday...so maybe that is why our experience was so bad. Every other meal in Sicily was fantastic. What this place did was truly insulting. We were to get "Veal Cutlet alla Palermitana." The microscopic thin layer of veal was "breaded" in sand from a beach then burnt so... More

Very pleasant find and only about three minutes walk from the Hotel Royal where we were staying. We arrived just as they were opening and the manager was very welcoming and helpful. We had all three courses and were not disappointed with our choice. The menu was extensive and needed some translation but the waiter was attentive without being in... More

We found this restaurant in Lonely Planet and also a French couple in our hotel also mentioned that they also have it in their ''streetwalkers'' book so we decided to give a try. Service is terrible; In the menu book names are only in Italian. You can figure out things for food, but wine section is really messy. Despite that we... More

It is situated on a pretty ropey looking back street and you have to pass the much more alive and noisy pizza place in front of the church to get there... but it is worth a visit. Service is helpfull and friendly. Great wine list. Good choice of Sicilian specialities on the menu. Very good value.

Metro is pretty unassuming from outside. Located just off the main street in Catania in an area noted for posh housing. Inside it is pretty special. The welcome for two Englishmen in an almost entirely Italian speaking place was fantastic. There was no English translation but our host made sure that he took us through the menu and gave us...
