La Saletta is just outside the busy old town, with tables on the pavement next to the road. We were lucky enough to find an early table without booking in advance (recommended). At first we were disappointed that the usual menu was not being offered- instead there was a set menu for the Ferroagosto (15th August Festival) for 40 euros... More

We went here for dinner, and didn't book a table in advance. The waiter said it could be an hour to wait for a table, but we weren't in a hurry and took a glass of wine by the sidewalk. After half an hour the table was ready, and we were quite happy. I had pasta pomodoro. The pasta was... More

From a price point of view difficult to beat but would not mind paying a bit more for slightly faster service, the main course arrived after 1-1/2 hours. But the service is proud and correct, so still a good place to taste local style food.

This is real traditional Sardinian food. It was mostly meat dishes on the menu, lamb, pork, sausage and even horse and donkey. The anti pasta was the best we had in Alghero, it just kept coming! Delicious cold meats, selection of cheese with cherry jam, baked cheese, tripe and onions and lovely bread and crackers. The kids shared a pasta... More

Locals eat here and La Saletta had been recommended by friends. Staff very welcoming and ready to explain different dishes. Good value for money in an area off the tourist beat.

We were very very fortunate to find this restaurant on our first day in Alghero - it was conveniently located near to where we were staying and we wanted to have late lunch there but we found out that it would only open at 7.30pm.. we went back and MAN were we glad we did! The staff were all so... More

We stayed in Alghero for 3 nights on our tour of Sardinia. We found this place on our first night and liked it so much we went back twice more. We wanted to try the local food and so worked our way through the taster menu (the smaller one is recommended as the bigger one may outface even the most... More

First of all, ignore any reviews prior to 2014. This restaurant changed hands in December 2013. I have eaten here several times both before and after the changeover and the difference can be felt Second, this is not a place for everyone. It is a meat-based restaurant, and the meat is cooked in the traditional Sardinian way, either roasted (bones,... More

If you're in Alghero, Sardinia, don't miss a meal at La Saletta. Order the mixed antipasti, and a series of delicious small dishes are brought to your table. Then I had the lamb stew with wild fennel and artichokes; such rich, dark flavours, while my partner enjoyed fregola - a small round pasta very like giant couscous - with shredded... More

It's a kind of agriturismo but in town, so you get all the bonuses but don't have to drive out into the countryside. Food is delicious and the staff are super nice. I totally recommend it!
