Amazing quality

We started with the anti pasti and were really astonished by the great taste of the cold and warm dishes that were served. Also the head courses were tasty and really good. Together with a mezzo litre of house wine we had dinner for 20 euro each. Got the recommendation from a local, this place is... read more

Popular restaurant with an interesting range of local specialities. Nice food but nothing spectacular. Service was polite but we felt a little rushed. As soon as we laid down our cutlery on the main course they were asking if we would like desserts. Tables a little close to each other.

Our late October visit to Alghero was meant to include a meal at La Saletta, unfortunately the restaurant was closed for an extended period and we were really sorry to have missed out.

Just eaten here. Three courses with wine and two glasses of Prosecco was 46 Euros for two of us. The food is traditional Sardinian so don't be put off by spicy horse and marinated donkey on the menu. The anti-pasta included excellent meats and cheese, the ravioli with ricotta and spinach superb and the lamb and peas with fennel a... More

The place is nice and quiet. The food is good and they have all sorts of mountain dishes from Sardinia. The service could be a little improved but overall it was a good experience. I'd certainly eat there again. Btw-you can have horse and donkey stakes here.

If I had seen the menu ahead of time, as Americans we just wouldn't have eaten here as trip, donkey and horse are just not usually part of what we eat! It was also a very heavy menu. Not bad; just not right for us.

If you like your food generously portioned and well flavoured, your meats unusual and your wine bountiful and cheap, La Saletta is hard to beat in Alghero. Situated a little out of the way on Via Flli Kennedy, but still on one of the main routes into the old town, this restaurant is quite easy to miss. However, the way... More

What a fantastic place! Went there twice during a week stay in Alghero. Everything was very tasty, service and atmosphere were excellent. Need to book a table at week-ends as the place is very popular among locals

La Saletta - Terrific choice in side street out of the old town but not far. We stumbled on it by chance and went back that night for the degustation menu - whoa. The main dishes were served on a cork platter, the traditional fashion. We tried the cavallo (horse) and slow baked pork roll - yum! Highly recommended.

I have been here last year in September and at that time it was run by a old woman and an all ladies team and we had an amazing time cheap and very tasty. The only thing to know is that portions are large compared to England .This time around with new owners it was still very good but not... More
