A real Sardinian feast

Enjoyed a lovely dinner here a few nights ago. Make sure you don't eat before - as there is quite a lot to get through! We enjoyed the plethora of cheeses and cured meats, followed by fresh vegetables (glorious aubergines and onions that have to be tasted to be believed), two pasta dishes that... read more

Worst food we had in all of Sardinia - more precisely, the only place that wasn't at least good (most were amazing). The only things that tasted ok were the cold cuts, the water and the grappa. The rest was bad to horrible. A real shame. Compliments to the lady serving us, who said it was her first day there.... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our meal at Barbagia. We didn't have a booking, but turned up early (8pm meal start), and got a table for 3 with no problem. There is plenty of entertainment for the kids with a playground right next to the verandah where the meal is served. As with all agriturismo's the food was amazing and PLENTY of... More

Spent an evening there while visiting Alghero. Had a great meal with starters, primo and secondo piati and dessert. Delicious local vine and coffee where served with the meal. And everything was in a fixed prices included. I enjoyed having dinner there a lot. I recommend not to eat a lot during the day if you go there, the menus... More

This is the far best agriturismo I have visited. The surroundings are idyllic, the food fabulous and the service charming. Although I and my girlfriend had a larger party that celebrated bachelor party, we had a really nice evening, I can heartily recommend Barbagia!

Note: You need a means of transportation to get here from central Alghero since it is about 2km from the airport. It's a rural setting with a large outdoor restaurant as well as indoor seats. It has a fixed menu which you will find excellent. Maybe a bit strange in its composition, but very tasty and filling. The service is... More

I think every agriturismo gives you too much food, but that is part of the experience. You want a taste of everything Sardinia has to offer and this place was extremely charming as you sit outside and see the pigs you are about to eat roasting over the open fire pit. I just recommend to pace yourself throughout this meal.... More

Went here off of a recommendation from a local winery owner, and couldn't have thanked her more. When we asked the concierge to make a reservation, he wrinkled his nose and asked if we wouldn't want to go to the more popular (I.e. touristy) agriturismo for dinner. We insisted on Barbagia and are so happy we did. The family atmosphere... More
