Lunchtime on the quayside

Really nice location overlooking the harbour in Alghero. Excellent choices on the menu, prompt service without being rushed as in some places, good selection of wines and nicely chilled beer! Seven of us paid €210 for a really good lunch. Well worth it!

Four of us had dinner at this picturesque restaurant on the city wall and it was fine. The starter of Salumi e Formaggi (14euro) was excellent. Two of us had grilled tuna as a main course, it was sliced thin and came with a small serving of grilled vegetables (18 euro). We had Seadas for dessert, which was a warmed... More

We went to Movida in March on what was a wet and cold day. Feeling hungry and trying to avoid the rain we diving into Movida with expectations of a decent lunch. The staff were extremely helpful and found us a table in what was a bustling restaurant. They were also very attentive and not at all pushy when it... More

We chose the Movida menu (menu of the day) and we got perfectly fresh cooked food. Believe me this menu is absolutely worth every euro. 6 seafood appetizers, spaghetti with fresh mussels, grilled red tuna and tiramisu as dessert. The recommended white wine, no big label, was lovely. Price/quality very good. Total dinner + bottle wine and water for 2... More

I'm surprised to see negative reviews of this restaurant as I really enjoyed my meal here. Was in Alghero for a few days and stumbled across Movida. We opted for the meal offer which was lasagna or spaghetti Bol and a glass of wine each for 12 euros. Have to say both dishes were lovely and made a nice change... More

We waited about 20 minutes before anyone even took our drinks or food order. Had long waits in between courses also. As we were eating our main course, it started to rain heavily. We were not undercover & had to carry our table under one of the parasols. Obviously it wasn't the restaurants fault it started raining but I would... More

We asked for risotto and it was good but overpriced. We also ordered a baked potatoes that tasted like plastic. The service was really awful, even though it was almost empty. It has a really good ubication but it's badly managed. Not recommended at all.

My friend and I visited the Movida as part of a motorcycle tour all over Europe. We'd perused all of the restaurants along the harbour wall area and chose the Movida as it was busy looking and the menu looked good. Initially things looked good, we ordered, received our drinks and sat back and enjoyed the world go by. The... More

We had the worst food we've ever had in Italy here. The location looked perfect but the service and food was terrible. When we tried to explain why we couldn't eat their pasta dish with sea food the rude waiter told us that tthat was the way pasta is made in Italy!!We didn't feel we had to tell him that in every... Find another place to eat! Movida has a nice view of the Alghero harbor from the walls of the old city, but we found the food to be terrible. Especially avoid any shrimp dish, as our dishes contained about 60% shrimp tails/shell...and any remaining shrimp pieces were sliced in the shell with very little to eat. Very disappointing as other... More
