Nice Sardinian food.

If you want a taste of Sardinia La Botteghina will not disappoint. The seafood is very fresh and the wines t typical for the region. Try the Fregola a local grain cooked similar to risotto or the cozze, mussels steamed in a red sauce. The service was excellent. On a hot night ask for an outdoor... read more

Modern little pizzeria where they take delight in creating fabulous food. The pizzas were exquisite. Thin crusts, interesting toppings. Not the same list as every other pizzeria in town but still made in a traditional way. Though they are oblong not round! The wines by the glass were local and good. The staff were passionate and really cared about the... More

We fell upon this restaurant by accident and were welcomed in. Starters are a must especially the tuna carpaccio and bruschetta, advisable to share starters as the portions are so generous. Pizza by the metre is for two but you can choose two toppings. The pasta, a Sardinian speciality frageola with mussels was bursting with flavour. Next to us the... More

Appetizers were very good, including the mussels and the local Vermentino white wine, but there was a ridiculously long wait between the first and second courses. The beef, ordered by two at our table, was very undercooked and very tough. The "red wine sauce" ordered by one of us for the beef, was a brown thick gravy that resembled a... More

I cannot say anything wrong about the restaurant but everything was so average that at the end this restaurant was our worst dining experience in Alghero. Most annoying about the whole evening was the atmosphere that hung in the (full) restaurant; It felt like a funeral with the waiters being the most depressive.... Never again so do not go here,... This was so highly rated that we had to try it. The service was great; the rooftop terrace was fun, but the expensive beef was tough and chewy - both the bistecca and the filetto. The wine prices were higher than in other restaurants as well. There are better restaurants in Alghero.

Dinner was a bit of a mixed bag. I had a massive steak that was under cooked for my liking and not overly tasty. My partner had the mussels which she quite liked. Service was ok but the waitress seemed bit disinterested. Took a second request for the bill after waiting 10 mins. The couple next to us were very... More

We shared antipasti starter and had a pizza for two- one half topped with Beef Chimichurri and the other half with cheese. - The food was lovely. Advisable to share starter as pizzas are so big.

Had pizza there last week. I remember the place from our previous trip and it was nice to come back. Pizza had a bit too much topping for our taste but it was still good. You need to be very very hungry to manage it all :) Loved the fact that there is a roof top terrace, a bit different... More

We came here for dinner on our first night in Alghero based on the review in Lonely Planet and as it looked nice inside (open kitchen so you can see the chefs). We ordered meat and cheese anti pasti as the photos we had seen on tripadvisor were impressive and we just fancied it. This was very good. Then I... More
