Before the holidays I read a lot on tripadvisor reviews of restaurants in Alghero. La Botteghina has a very high recommendations so we decided to pick for one of our dinner. My partner is a chef so the expectations were very high. We booked a table for dinner on Monday for Fridays 9.30pm. We showed up punctually and we were... More

During 5 nights in Alghero we ate at this great little restaurant 3 times. The first and second time we ate downstairs in the cosy dining room, the third time we were show up to a table on the roof terrace which was lovely. Everything we ate here was superb. The cured meats and cheeses to start were excellent and... More

Everything is just perfect at La Botteghina. Great food, which is cooked right in front of you, good service, and chique/ hip interior. The concept of slow and honest food, with only regional products, is well excecuted. Even the toilets are cute, using organic toiletpaper and organic paper towels. This is a place i would defenitely recommend to everyone who's... More

The number of Italians in the restaurant is proof of the excellent quality of the food and the value for money. The food is typical and excellent but the prices remain reasonable. Nice dining area downstairs but I would have preferred the upstairs terrace - but perhaps the fact that I was alone had something to do with it.

We had fish and Sardinian couscous main courses. Couscous lovely. Fish unimpressive and pricey. Looking around at others, think we should have ordered pizza. Tried to order the homemade icecream as dessert but all gone at 9.15! Told table required at 9.30 when we were given a table at 8. Service very, very slow so not surpri sed a lot of... More

Me and my boyfriend went to this restaurant because our friend which lives in Alghero highly recommended to us. She said that is the best restaurant in town and you will never find such a food anywhere else. Of course that I will never find such a restaurant because all their dishes were like an experimental food. They were trying... More

We stumbled upon this little gem by accident, after walking out of a tourist trap nearby. The place was packed, but we were told a table would become available soon. While we waited outside the staff brought us two glasses of wine and a plate of delicious antipasti, both on the house! After only waiting ten minutes our table was... More

We went here for lunch. I'm vegetarian and tried the bruchetta with tomatos, olives and capers. Not a favourite! The bread was very heavy, and it just didn't taste good together. My boyfriend is not vegetarian and had a pasta with tomatosauce, it looked strange but the taste was good. Maybe I was unlucky, it looked like most people were... More

We visited this restaurant because it's recommended by the Lonely planet of Sardegna. I really like it if restaurants base their menu on local food, especially with fresh caught fish food. I ordered the plate of the chef, based on the catch of the day. It was a very nice tagliatelle with clams, bottarga and mussels. Unfortunately, some of the... More

Very nice restaurant with a friendly staff. It's necessary to make a reservation during this period of the year. Ask to sit outside on the terrass. What's good of this restaurant? Well everything is fresh and local: we recommend to start with tuna or swordfish carpaccio or the degustation of Sardinian meat and cheese, so delicate and fresh. We've been... More
