La Locanda is the combination of the warmth and friendliness typical of the taverns to the professionalism and sophistication of the typical restaurant. One of the best fish dishes we have tasted, a sea bream roasted in paper. The service was good. What appeared to be local businessmen came here for a quick lunch. We sat outside in a covered area surrounded by portable glass screens. Unfortunately, two men began to smoke but the waitress opened up the glass screens where they were... More

This restaurant is in a nice piazza, in a very interesting part of town. It was highly recommended by the hotel staff and also by Lonely Planet. While it was an OK meal, it was not special, the waitstaff was overworked and took a looooong time to sit us (15+ minutes with several empty tables available). Then the waiter proceeded... More

Visited here following a work colleague's recommendation. It was a Saturday night but the place was not especially busy. The manager spent most of the evening on his phone leaving the hosting duties to junior members of staff. I had to attract the waiters attention every time anything was needed. At one point I had to get up and go... More

The restaurant is located on the central piazza Mercantile. The restaurant was recommended by our guide book. We were very satisfied with the food, though the bread was a bit dried out on the edge. We were there on a quiet night, and the staff was playing withthe volume of the music and changing the music constantly. Not very professional,... More

We sat outside and all the tables were full. Wonderful first course of carpaccio of three different fish, one portion large enough to share between two. Enjoyed fresh pasta with creamy zucchini sauce and smoked bacon lardons. Excellent bottle of Puglian wine. Friendly service and reasonable price.

Have visited this restaurant twice and have been totally satisfied on both occasions. There is a lovely selection of dishes, including fish, which are extremely flavoursome. The desserts are equally superb. The restaurant is slightly more expensive than others in the locality however portion sizes for both mains and desserts are very generous therefore worth the extra. Service is very... More

Located on a busy square in the old city, it was fun to watch the crowds passing by while enjoying terrific food. 4 of us shared several different appetizers, pastas and main courses and enjoyed every bite. We even ended up buying our ceeramic wine cups to take home as souvenirs

My co-workers chose this as a fall-back solution for a business dinner and they booked a banquet dinner. The food was great, the quantities huge, and (particularly since we were travelling from Scandinavia) the price was very low. The Scandinavians loved the seafood and the Italians in the group said this was like a local wedding feast. We were all... More

Have been here in Novembre 2012 with some friend that had an advise about the palce from a local journalist. The advise was good, the place has a nice atmospher but what matters the most is the food, tipically local with that extra touch, excellent. Do not miss the "antipati", let them decide, they depend on the season (wich is... More
