Traditional tastes of Vicenza

Local specialties and local wine - a great combination. We shared two very good pasta dishes: tagliolini with black truffles, and bigoli (big spaghetti) with duck ragu, then shared fegato Veneziana (calve's liver and sautéed onion) with polenta. Washed down with a very good local red wine. Service... read more

We had a really lovely four course lunch at this wonderful restaurant. Guinea fowl salad, tagliolini with truffles and bigoli with a pork ragu, liver with creamy polenta, knock out dolci and great wine. Charming and helpful staff, filled with locals.

A lovely dining experience-- food delicious featuring some well-prepared regional cuisine. Recommended by our hotel-- Due Mori-- and spot on as a superb selection. The finest restaurant in Vicenza but reasonably priced-- Bravo!!

This is a lovely restaurant with great food and service. The restaurant is tucked round a corner so it took as a few minutes to find but it was worth the effort. Food is light and fresh and left room for pudding which was also delicious. The whole meal with wine, coffee and liqueurs was excellent, memorable and very reasonably... More

We ate dinner here and the appetizers were great. Swordfish carpaccio and prosciutto with artichokes were a great beginning. The black cornmeal dumplings with shrimp backs and artichokes and the bigoli with duck ragu were good examples of regional dishes and the potato leek soup as well. The trout encrusted with zucchini with mashed potatoes and the veal chop with... More

Try the fried, stuffed zucchini flowers. And, of course, bigoli -- the pasta of this region. So tasty!

This restaurant was recommended by a friend who lives around the corner. I called the day before for reservations for a lunch party of 5. At first they seemed hesitant but then gave in. Luckily someone in the party knew the location or I would have walked passed it - that's how downtown is! The menu is full of dished... More

The antipasto and pasta dishes were a dream. They were so appetizing that we ordered another pasta dish and skipped the secondo (main dish).

Our tour group of 17 ate a pre-selected meal here our first night in Vicenza. I fear the choices were made to be safe (and/or inexpensive), rather than looking for the house specialties. The restaurant is pleasant and the staff very accommodating. We started with Bigoli al torchio di pasta fresca al ragu d'anatra. The pasta was OK, but the... More
