Self Serve Italian

We ate here for a going away event for a fellow employee. The place is in the middle of downtown Vicenza so you'll be walking to get here. It's a nice walk from the train station, about 10 minutes. The atmosphere is nice and the food is good. I guess that's why it's so busy. The prices are... read more

Having tickets for a concert at the Teatro Olimipico, we were looking for a place to get a quick bite. No one really greets you, you have to wade right in: picking a table inside or out, setting it yourself, get your own bread and water, and then ordering from the chefs, looking at the chalkboard menus. I had a... More

The place is very central, close to the cathedral and very quite because there are no cars. The meat is cooked at the moment and everything is good. They really have to trust people because, despite being a self service, you pay after you eat, but it looks like it works. the price is great if you consider the place... More

We ate here on a stormy Monday evening, when most other restaurants in the area were closed. Other diners seemed to be local regulars, the place was very busy - some customers came and went quickly, whilst others were making an evening of it. We obtained our place mats/cutlery/wine/water and bread rolls and laid 'our' table - we then went... More

The food was decent but not great. This place you pick up your placemat, knife, fork, etc. and set your own table. You then go up (I wouldn't say that you go through a line exactly) and ask for what you want. I did like the free bread rolls from a bin. The waiter will clear your plates. After you... More

This is brilliant. You walk in choose your food from the counters and your drink.Choose a table , enjoy your food. Then go to the payment till and say what you have had. It is all based on trust. The food is delicious and reasonable.

On our visit we came with 18 people. The staff was so gracious & rolled with our many punches. A mere five minute walk from our hotel, our group ordered everything from the baccala- fish stewed in milk, a delicious local dish served w polenta- to sea bream & game hen. The food was amazing. A favorite was the primi... More

We sighted this restaurant whilst checking out the sights. The 'self serve' qualification put us off a bit so we decided to eat elsewhere that evening. As the restaurant we chose was closed we decided to check out this restaurant. It is very different to other restaurants as you order from the chef but this is part of its charm.... More

You order what you want directly at the chef selecting the specials of the day (they change every day) displayed in front of you. You then take your plate or plates (first course, second course, fruit or dessert) and find a table to eat either outside or inside. The restaurant is very characteristic inside and very pleasant to sit outside... More

The location is very central in the town so good for meeting up with friends. I have to admit it reminded me of the cafeteria that a lot of employers run. Nothing special regular food that was still good but nothing to rave about. Very busy most of the time and I don't like having to stand in line to... More
