Stylish dinning al fresco

This small restaurant, hidden away in a small back street outside the centre of Verona, is a true find (have since heard that it is a Michelin 1-star!!). The weather was perfect to sit on the small outside terrace. A great atmosphere and an even greater wine list (about 65 pages!). The patronne was... read more

Michelin Starred restaurants are normally very technical affairs with a high level of service, people in waistcoats, everything timed to perfection (Grammercy Tavern for example) and sometimes just a little that gets in the way of the food. This is not like that. This is a family owned restaurant outside the city centre, that is part of its community that... More

We ate here on the last night of our honeymoon. It is in a residential area across the river with a fairly noisy bar close by but this still couldn't spoil it for us. I had aubergine pie to start, in a delicious pastry. We went for the recommended seafood platter to share as a main, which was absolutely fantastic.... More

A unique, delightful and idiosyncratic restaurant. The owner who served us, part of the husband and wife team who have run the restaurant for over 30 years, was charming and helpful. The atmosphere was Alice in Wonderland, a maze of objects, furniture, mirrors, curtains and chandeliers and, despite the fact that it was a very quiet night, it provided a... More

finding a Michelin starred restaurant in Verona was a challenge but we found this one and were not disappointed. The atmosphere, service and food are all very unique and pleasing - well worth the visit - book in advance!

No expectations with this 1-starred restaurant, but this night it was well-deserved. Just located outside old town near Pietra bridge. Inside it is narrow, like a doll-house, so sit outside if the weather admits. Started with Prosecco on the house. Really good rustic venetian good, good prices and well-sorted winelist. Recommend the raviolo and the braised beef venetian style.

We arrived with high expectations. Decor was lovely. Wine list was excellent. Prosecco brought on the house. Had a very good truffle ravioli starter and one slightly over complicated venison starter, which was OK. Mains arrived, again an excellent guinea fowl dish. Our other main was a flavourless bit of wild boar with sticky, over reduced sauce and a hard,... More

I was very excited about going to La Fontanina so the chance to be disappointed was quite high. But I absolutely loved the place. The food was amazing (my pasta with black truffles was small - started size - but to die for). The wine list was unbelievably long - a very important point for my boyfriend so he was... More

Top night was had here. Very good food, long and excellent wine list, and slightly bonkers surroundings ( a mixture of Aladin's cave and a wine cellar). Pricier than a trattoria, but food was so good that it was worth it. Very friendly and informative staff too

This is not your average 'fine-dining' establishment. It is quirky (borderline weird) and needs to be taken with a pinch of salt. The service is not warm and friendly, but it is efficient. The wine glasses and bulky and colourful - something to get used to! The food, however, was great, and that is after all what makes or breaks... More
