Great food, great service, great place!

I leave reviews just when I’m particularly happy or disappointed, and this time I’m extremely satisfied! I got into Retro after a visit to the town’s dome, which is right behind, and I received a warm welcome by the owner, Viviana, who speaks great English. The menu was easy to read and each dish was marked if it was gluten free, vegetarian or vegan. Prices were ok and food tasted lovely! The only minus is that they only accept cash as a payment method.

The food and atmosphere are fantastic. The service and setting are perfect. A must while in town for fresh juice and eats.

I took a (beautiful, but slightly rainy) day trip to Verona with several other Americans, and after walking around in the rain, we finally decided to have an early dinner here. The food was absolutely delicious, the service was very friendly, the prices were very reasonable, and the ambiance was adorable. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who is... More

I only had a day to spend in Verona as it was a free day for me and some friends while studying abroad in Italy and once we got there, we took a cab straight out to this restaurant we had seen in my travel guide that had really awesome reviews. Unfortunately that place was closed but luckily we stumbled... More

...this place is open - three to seven is a bit of a no food zone in Verona, you get used to the fixed restaurant hours as you travel through Italy, and you can usually work with them - but when you get caught up sightseeing, and lose all track of the time getting a tasty treat can feel a... More

Found by chance, but just in time for dinner. It closes at 8 pm. Apparently a tavern, but inside is special and different. Innovation in the kitchen. Also excellent vegan food and more. Nice environment created in the inner courtyard. Honestly I did not find the staff rude as read in other reviews. They were helpful and friendly. It is... More

After a month in Italy with hardly any GF or vegan choices, this place is a breath of fresh air in a vegetable starved (except for tomatoes) country. The fresh juices are wonderful as well as the soup. There were lots of GF choices so will return here. If you are in Verona, this is the place for healthy food.... More

We were 7 and all of us liked whatever we had. Typical Italian menu with the good presentation. The location is fantastic, just opposite of Duomo Cathedral. It made me surprised because generally it is not easy to find a good restaurant nearby very busy places, like Duomo. The only problem of the place is that they do not accept... More

Had a wonderful gluten free lunch of sweet potato noodle stir fry with carrots. Outstanding first meal in Italy. Would highly recommend with or without allergies.
