I went here with my mother because I wanted to try the polenta and the more typical veronese kitchen. We got a table in the basement and it felt very cosy. The service was excellent but the food... Well, it wasn't my favorite really but it was OK. Some guests actually left after reading the menu because they served things... More

Cosy tavern in the heart of Verona, bringing back memories of times past. Dark panelled walls, wooden beams and a huge counter loaded with cured meats and cheeses add to the ambience. Charming owners served us ‘baccalà con polenta’ and ‘bigoli con le sarde’, equally delicious, and helped choosing the right wine from their extensive cellar. Natasha, a nice lady... More

We stayed away from this restaurant because our first visit was so disappointing. Now we decided to give it another try, and, I must confess, I have to review my previous 'poor' comment. No polenta this time (I don't like it, but that of course is personal). My wife had very nice lamb chops and I had 'veal nerves with... More

We drifted in on our first night in Verona and weren't disappointed. We both had the lamb chops, with sides of potatoes and grilled vegetables and we couldn't eat it all, although we somehow forced down desserts. With drinks, a total of 66 Euros. Friendly, speedy service. Traditional Italian fare, reasonably priced.

Friendly traditional service and very good food at reasonable prices - gets busy so go earlyish. Upstairs very full so we enjoyed the cellar restaurant.

We just finished an absolutely wonderful meal at this restaurant. The decor is very functional, with prosciutti hanging from the ceiling in the front of the restaurant and a pretty dining room in back with some cute frescoes. The food and wine were superb, and the service was quite good. The menu was fairly short for an Italian restaurant, with... More

Our hotel recommended this restaurant, and we were not disappointed. I don't know if the place was full of locals - but most parties were speaking Italian. The restaurant obviously did not cater to American tourists, based on the number of menu items with horse and donkey meat. With that said, we shared the best grilled vegetables of our trip,... More

Great food and atmosphere. We had the risotto Amarone. Never ate this before and I wanted to try something new and authentic. It didn't disappoint although have to say it's not the prettiest dish I've been presented with. All the waiters had the maturity and experience of many years serving delicious food.

Four of us dined at the restaurant and everyone rated this meal as their favorite during the European vacation. Amarone risotto is why we picked the restaurant and we were NOT disappointed. This had to be the best amarone risotto that the city has to offer. I got the polenta with Gorgonzola and pancetta. The dish was so flavorful and... More

a minute from casa giuletta, this restaurant has a large menu to suit all tastes. The atmosphere was relaxed and informal, attentive but not pompous staff. Food was very good and not expensive for 4 people. gave us plenty of time to make our choices and didn't hurry us in any way. Would recommend. Third time there.
