The food was very typical Italy and could not have been better

We had pasta, salad, vegies, duck, lamb and one of the best wines we had on our trip. The food was perfect. The waitress was so nice; there when you needed her, and every recommendation was right on.. The restaurant was nice, clean and lively. What else could you ask for? We would drive out of... read more

We had a lunch at the Taverna, and we ejoyed our experience. Beautiful, cosy, Italian-style taverna. Nice and professional service, and on top of that - delicious food, tipical to the region, at very reasonable prices. A must to dine at when in Verona.

We were recommended to try this cosy restaurant by our Reception chap in the Hotel Sogno Di Giulietta nearby. The elderly waiters were warm and welcoming, the atmosphere was inviting and busy. Half a carafe of house wine was good and very cheap. My four tender lamb chops were excellent and my partner enjoyed his calves' liver. We both had... More

Fantastic and authentic local cuisine in a wonderfully charming atmosphere. THIS is why we love Italy. The food was so amazingly fresh and flavorful, and served at a perfect pace for a lovely evening. Our server suggested a local red wine, which turned out to be fantastic and not terribly expensive (around 12 Euro for the bottle). We paired it... More

Very good place to find typical Veronese cuisine. Donkey and horse are on the menu but there is plenty if non equine meat to choose from. The best options are to look at what is on offer on the blackboard and the house red is well above the quality that one would normally expect. Not high cuisine but good solid... More

Nice atmosphere.... Although kind of noisy the basement due to the Italian share table concept.... However Overall a nice evening. You need to try the polenta with Gorgonzola and there is also a very nice housewine

When you are tired of all the overly touristed Romeo and Juliet craziness, step into this traditional little spot for a relaxing meal. The waiter was super friendly and walked us through the menu. We picked out antipasti, several primis, several secondos, four desserts and a carafe of local Bardolino. Very satisfying and an incredibly good bargain. Don't pass up... More

At its best, Italian cuisine is high quality ingredients, well cooked, by people who really care about food. La taverna di via stella gives you exactly that, but not only. The wine list is extensive and has only good wines, yet at reasonable prices. The service is of equally high quality, you will certainly not be disappointed. We went there... More

We had an excellent lunch here and couldn't understand why lots of tourists walked by taking photographs of it but not coming in. It's a really enticing place with a deli counter and restaurant. We had fresh ravioli and a polenta dish for lunch and enjoyed them so much we lingered over desserts as well - crème caramel and baked... More

Fantastic place! Tipical Italian/Veronese, cozy and warm, stone throw from Romeo and Juliet's Balcony, in a tiny little street. Great atmospehere, fine local cuisine, staff extremely competent and polite, we had duck, polenta and spaghetti with clams and mussels, and probably one the best cheesecakes I have ever tried, and everything comes in generous size. Lovely wine list.
