Be careful eat slow when here. Portions are big, food is delicious. You most likely will not be able to finish all dishes you are served.

I found Maffei Restaurant after having a "tourist shock" at Juliet's balcony innundated by tourists. I just kept walking straight and fortunately found this great restaurant. The food was delicious and I still regret I didn't have time for dessert. I certainly recommend it.

Regularly visit Verona and have done so for over twenty years. Always dine at Maffei during my stay and my recent visit was impressive as usual. Good ingredients impeccably presented and this combined with the super atmosphere created in this lovely building make for a lovely evening.

We headed here on the last evening of our Verona trip after hearing about it from some fellow guests in our hotel. Verona is full of surprising archways that lead to beautiful courtyards and this restaurant is situated in one of them. It was raining when we were there so the courtyard was not set up for dining but it's... More

Great pasta dishes! The appetizers were not big hits but the fresh pasta first courses were all delicious. Interesting wine menu and informative suggestions for local wines were greatly appreciated. There is a really good gelato place nearby if the dessert suggestions dont tempt you or are too heavy. The waiters were warm and the kitchen was kept very clean.

A friend recommended this restaurant and it was divine! Not just the food but the beautiful setting as well. I saw other review that said the food was average, which I didn't find to be the case. We were a party of 8 and had different meals and everyone walked out of their totally thrilled. The wines we had were... More

We enjoyed a one night stay in Verona in October and had the pleasure of stumbling across the Ristorante Maffei - but at the top end of Piazza delle Erbe. Highly recommended. The setting is very elegant Veronese and was just what we had been looking for. The food was excellent and the service couldn't have been better. Initially we... More

We booked Ristorante Maffei for our anniversary meal. The restaurant is set in a beautiful building in a prominent position on the lovely Piazza Erbe that adds to the charm and gives an air of romance. Staff were very friendly and helpful. My wife ordered the lamb which was certainly more rare than medium which was a disappointment. I had... More

This beautifully set restaurant in the courtyard in what appears to be a medieval Villa is awe inspiring. That's about where it ends! The service is average at best, tourists or non-locals are treated poorly, and almost with disdain (locals though, appeared to be treated as "worthy"). The cold and distant reception was disconcerting, as is the food. We selected... More
