Great Food

Booked for an early 7pm dinner together with two American Colleagues, decided to take the three course sampling menu, we chose fish, it was a great choice! What a perfect place, service was excellent, the restaurant gave us Prosecco after we sat down, what a nice treat after a long day. The food was amazing we were 9 people having 3 course meal and then we received home made chocolate and some other treats, that made this evening perfect. I will go there again.

This restaurant was recommended by our hotel receptionist and was the best we tried in Verona. The atmosphere is romantic, eating under the lamplit portico, the food and service very good. I enjoyed gnochetti with prawns, my husband had turbot with potato and onion cake. We were both in ecstasies over the white chocolate sponge with coffee parfait and tangerine... More

Located near Piazza Erbe and if the weather is good prefer to sit outside. Classical venetian dining with correct service and price above average, but well worth it. Well-sorted winelist, reasonably priced. Highly recommended and go for Tagliatelle with rabbitragou for starter.

This great Resturant built by Maffei's family located in the heart of center Verona . I had table out side the weather was nice. I ordered big steak weight 1kg for 2 person it was so delicious with salad and 2 drinks cost 86 Euro. The atmosphere and the food very very good .

The food was excellent (my T-Bone steak was massive and still cooked beautifully), the atmosphere great and the staff we very friendly and knowledgeable. The wine cellar is part of the historic ruins of the city and a nice touch. Not cheap but not too expensive Definitely a great restaurant and I highly recommend eating here if you are in... More

The restaurant is a nice place located inside Maffei Castle, the service was good and the food was ok, not the best we had in Verona. What is truly amazing, and worth the visit, is the Wine Cellar. The cellar is located underground, where the ruins of the old Arena di Verona are. If you are going on a very... More

I visit Verona several times a year and have done so over 25 years. Just back from another 6 nights in this lovely town. Ristorante Maffei is on top form with an interesting menu and I ate here on two evenings during my March stay. Both dinner meals were exceptional from the quality of the cooking and the presentation to... More

We had a lovely meal here on a very wet and miserable evening. The slow cooked beef in Amarone was quite delicious - good wine list too

I simply love this restaurant. Placed by the nice piazza Erbe, the interior is very cosy and they have an excellent front yard. The food is not cheap, but neither is it expensive. And the three times I've eaten there it has been more than good enough to defend the price. You might find cheaper places in Verona with almost... More
