We chose celebrated our daughter's birthday at this restaurant. We chose Ristorante Maffei because of the location, beautiful atmosphere, and their willingness to accommodate our special requests. We emailed the restaurant a month in advance to secure our reservation and make a few special requests. The restaurant staff was very cordial in their responses with us. When we arrived at... More

Whilst in Verona we had enjoyed some excellent food but this restaurant surpassed anything we had enjoyed on our trip. Our table in the courtyard was beautiful and our waiter was incredibly knowledgable about local food and wine.He recommended a beautiful local white wine that complimented our menu choices incredibly well. All staff were very attentive and the little touches and... More

Suprising haven of peace and quiet away from the bustle of Piazza Erbe but close enough to feel the vibe. Very good service and an excellent Italian Sauvignon bianco helped make this a memorable lunch. The mains were undoubtably the best with the lamb chops as good as any I have eaten. The gnocchi with monkfish was also a real... More

We had noticed this interesting restaurant whilst walking around the town of Verona and decided to pay a visit on the third evening of our holiday. The entrance to this restaurant looked very magical but the food nice but nothing special. We had not booked a table and the restaurant looked quite busy!!. But they did have a table available. After... More

We struggled to find a restaurant that wasn't serving donkey or horse in this region but finally found one with no surprises totally by accident although it had been recommended by the Hotel. We enjoyed it so much we are going back on Friday night. Menu easy to read, lamb chops excellent , although no starter suitable for my husband.... More

My fiancee and I usually try to stay away from five star restaurants for budgetary reasons, but this once we decided that it will be nice to treat ourselves to a nice dinner date. Looking at the prices we were a bit overwhelmed at first but decided to go for it as the menu was just so diverse and sounded... More

A very special restaurant where the final bill comes as a surprise because the service, surroundings, quality of the food and quite frankly all the freebies suggests you've indulged far far more. Proper tablecloths, a table loaded in silver, a welcome prosecco on the house, and lovely attentive staff is just the start. The food is top class and when... More

Excellent food and service, it's a must visit if you are in Verona. Elegant decoration and attentive waiting staff just add to the pleasure of the palate! The finishing touch: the ruins of part of the Roman forum in the basement of the restaurant, where the friendly maître d' will be glad to take you if you ask.

We've been on Christmas day, first time at Verona. Everybody in the restaurant was very kind, the christmas menù was excellent, delicious and in a large quantity. The atmosphere was typical of an aristocratic Northern-italy restaurant, when we left it, we were really happy spending there the Christmas day. The price was not too expensive (60 € per person) for... More
