Quite special

This little courtyard is set quietly away at the top of the piazza - it's a very calming welcoming place with excellent staff, a great menu and even better wine list. Lots of interesting dishes - really enjoyed the risottos.

We have been coming to Verona for 5 years and one of the best parts of our visit is dining at Maffei. The courtyard is the most romantic place for Al fresco dining . The service is attentive and professional and unhurried . The wine list is excellent and very fairly priced. The presentation of the food is wonderful and... More

Overall, I though this restaurant was good. It took a few minutes for the staff to acknowledge us and we asked if we could sit at a different table as the one they tried to sit us at was quite bright but we were told this wasnt possible. We enjoyed some prosecco to start and then enjoyed a bottled of... More

We went for lunch. The pasta dish was quite good but the salmon was overdone and rather dry. We ordered an 18 euro Valpolicella from Masi. When our bill came it was priced at 40 euros. The restaurant claimed that they were out of the 18 euro bottle and the waiter had shown us the bottle they served. The largest... More

Tucked away at the end of Piazza delle Herbe through an archway is a delightful restaurant with tables outside under the arch where the ambience is very romantic or inside where the armosphere is warm and welcoming. The staff are friendly and the food is excellent as is the service. I have sent several friends here and all were delighted.... More

We were spoiled by our first two restaurants in Verona. Maffie probably deserved 4 and 1/2 stars. The location in the courtyard was excellent, the staff attentive and efficient. The food was good but not as good as we had elsewhere in this wonderful city. We had the four course Veronese tasting menu. The rabbitt dish was a joy, the... More

You can eat well pretty much anywhere in Italy. So why would you go back to the same restaurant when visiting Verona regularly. The truth is you definitely can eat well pretty much everywhere but then there are those one or two restaurants which take everything to another level. They re-define the true meaning of a dining experience. Ristorante Maffei... More

Truly lovely. The setting is beautiful and so is the food- the best meal so far in Verona. The waitress and waiter were fantastic and very professional - it was very busy but they did not convey their stress and were attentive. We will definitely go back and recommend this place to family and friends.
