Great Cicheti by the Gran Canal

Went to this place twice at lunchtime. Sitting outside by the canal watching the venetian world go by, whilst eating delicious Cichetti and sipping some dry white wine - great experience. Highly recommended.

My husband and I had a lovely, very expensive, romantic meal here in September 2014. It was a beautiful night, and after wandering for hours looking at the sights trying to find just the right location to eat for our first and only night in Venice, discovered Al Pesador. We were delighted that we could walk up get a table... More

Great to sit here of an evening and watch the world go by, as some great food gets presented to you. The service was amazing, friendly, informative, fun and very attentive. The food was very rich with fantastic taste, portions sizes felt small, but the food was so rich, they didn't need to be large. The English translation of the... More

After much walking around Venice, we were looking for a place with a view where we could stop and enjoy a drink. This is just the place. Amazing setting right on the canal opposite the Guideccia and also close to the Rialto bridge. The service was excellent and the waiters spoke english and were attentive. Extensive wine list. Wonderful to... More

While on our honeymoon we ate here and it was a great experience. They have outdoor seating right next to the water for one of the most romantic dinners we have ever eaten. The food was also very good but a little bit pricey and small portions.

Amazing! Starting from the atmosphere, following by the huge wine list ( that you could have per glass!!!), following with amazing fresh food (rare in Venice) and concluding with the service (knowledgeable and nice)!!! I have nothing to add! You have to go there and will...like me...go back!!!

We went to Al Pesador for lunch on what was our only full day in Venice. After a wonderful walking tour in the morning we wanted somewhere to sit down, have a pleasant lunch and watch the world go by. We got exactly that, amidst people milling around the Rialto and water traffic cruising up and down the Grand Canal... More

Strategically positioned except that we had to go upstairs because of the rain. Great wines, nicely done food, amazing baccala' and lots of spritz! All to ruined by a terrific yelling group of Veneziani erupted in many chants, super loudly, celebrating a birthday, to the point of making impossible to talk to my guests. Please next time either tell us... More

Recommended by our Santa Croce B&B (Campiello Zen), this is a great stop for some cicheti and wine, while you watch the crazy traffic on the Grand Canal near the Rialto Bridge. A bit more pricey due to its location, but still fun.

A very nice fish restaurant! Nice atmosphere and pleasant staff! A great view to the grand canal! The food had a very good quality! It was a very nice dinner for our wedding anniversary! It was a little bit expensive but I think it worth it!

Staying in San Polo

Neighborhood Profile
San Polo
The Rialto Bridge is the most famous sight along the Grand Canal in San Polo, smallest of Venice's six sestieri (districts) and by far the busiest neighborhood. Morning Venetians arrive to peruse the markets for fish, fruit and vegetables, while shops display goods from cheese to wine to desserts. San Silvestro and Rialto Market vaporetto (water taxi) stops add to the steady stream of foot traffic. San Polo is defined by churches including Basilica dei Frari, one of the most important churches sought by art lovers.
