We ate here twice on our trip to Venice. On Monday 23rd Feb the waiter was excellent - could see we were interested in trying the local cuisine and gave some great advice. Incredible food, well worth the money. This place is a locals favourite, I doubt you'll find better for the money in Venice. Be sure to book in... More

Maybe we had too high expectation before visiting this restaurant, so we got a little bit disappointed. We had three courses and a bottle of wine. Firstly, there were not many selections on the menu. My husband and I especially chose different dishes so that we can try different flavors. I got seafood mix for appertizer. Tell the truth, those... More

I had the John Dory which was excellent. A good choice of house wines. Excellent service. Need to book as it is a small restaurant.

Great food and wine. we had 3-4 different dishes, and liked it all, especially the ravioli. A bit pricy though.

We were lucky enough to get a table in this tiny restaurant as there was a noshow. The staff as usual were friendly and helpful. The food delicious. We shared an antipasti which was plenty for two and each had our own main course of pasta of seafood... One vongole and one with giant shrimp. A bottle of wine from... More

We visited Ai Artisti on a Saturday night at the end of January. The restaurant had two sittings; one at 7pm to 9pm and one from 9.15pm. When we booked earlier the same day there was only one table left in the small back room (the front room is small too!) although this was not in the main area, we... More

i love this restaurant! The food is simple and tasty! The wines by the glass great and affordable! And the small staff attentive and helpful. I love this restaurant so much that I've taken the train from Milano just to have lunch here!

Read about this place in 3 different sources, including the rave reviews on Tripadvisor. Walked by at 7:15 pm on a cold January evening and we're happily surprised to find a couple of their few tables free. The staff was as welcoming and helpful as one could hope for. The atmosphere was cozy and friendly. And the food...bravo! We had... More

We revisited Ai Artisti this year having enjoyed it a lot on our last visit to Venice. It remains, in our view, a top choice. It's not cheap but in Venice nothing good is; it is, however, brilliant value. Further the restaurant is open handed with much offered 'over and above' the ordered meal. Final thought is that the wine... More

Staying in Dorsoduro / Accademia

Neighborhood Profile
Dorsoduro / Accademia
Artsy is the defining mood of this neighborhood with street artists, students, painters, sculptors, restorers, curators, historians, collectors, heirs and heiresses rubbing elbows. Peggy Guggenheim's collection, now a museum, lures chic locals for evening art aperitifs. Traditionalists and visionaries cocoon in bohemian luxury. La Salute basilica buttresses the neighborhood to the east. Gondolas bob in the morning light. The Accademia Bridge crosses the Grand Canal. A back street doubles as basketball court. Palaces house residents, or like Ca' Foscari a university, or a museum like Ca’ Rezzonico that attracts Venetians for concerts. Dorsoduro reveals its industrial roots too, in buildings converted to house university departments or exhibitions. Campo Santa Margherita bursts with youthful energy from local students. Foot traffic bustles to and from Piazzale Roma and Santa Lucia train station. Evening commuters pause for an aperitivo. Neighbors exchange confidants in a campo (square) on their way to market.
