Small and beautiful

We had an outside table next to the canal. It's a small place, so better to reserve. Service was efficient and friendly. Food and wine were good. We had a great spring evening in Venice at Ai Artisti.

We were lucky and managed to get a table for four without a reservation by arriving just as they were opening. Service was attentive and friendly. The restaurant was small and cosy. Food was amazing! We shared 2 appetizers, 2 primos and 2 secondos as well as a dessert. Perfect amount of food for 4! The bread was delicious as... More

A great little Osteria in Venice. It's a little restaurant - so book ahead. They have a great mix of pasta, meat and fish dishes. You will not be disappointed and surely back. I loved the place.

We arrived at 7:00 just as they were opening, so we were able to get a table. They book up many days in advance. Located on a relatively quieter street that's easy to find, the place is tiny but serves up great food. You have to like seafood if you come here! And portions are smaller, but you don't leave... Book well in advance for really good fresh food - the menu changes daily according to what looks good in the market. Very good wine list too.

Came here for my partner's 50th in October 2013 and the food was simply delicious. Chatted up a lovely English couple during dinner and made for a very special evening. Thank you so much for the lovely service and making our stay in Venice a magical one.

Don't expect to be in a large restaurant with a lot of people and waiters. It's just a small and nice restaurant where the service and the food are perfect. Wine is great and pasta al dante. They don't have a large menu but everything is fresh and tasty. For sure,we'll come back next time we'll leave London to Venice.... More

Was debating whether to give it 4 or 5 stars. The appetizer sampler was excellent but my pasta dish was only ok. On the other hand, the desert was outstanding and the outdoor seating on a canal was also very charming. The main reason for leaning toward 4 stars was the portion size, which was the smallest we had in... More

This restaurant is very small and we felt rather cramped at a small table near the bar, it was noisy and not at all relaxing. The menu is not extensive and I did not find that the meal lived up to the expectations I had having read previous TA reviews of the place. I also felt that the quantity of... More

A fine starter [scallops] was followed by a paltry portion of John Dory [overcooked] and all far too expensive for the quantity and quality. Sorry. ps -noisy

Staying in Dorsoduro / Accademia

Neighborhood Profile
Dorsoduro / Accademia
Artsy is the defining mood of this neighborhood with street artists, students, painters, sculptors, restorers, curators, historians, collectors, heirs and heiresses rubbing elbows. Peggy Guggenheim's collection, now a museum, lures chic locals for evening art aperitifs. Traditionalists and visionaries cocoon in bohemian luxury. La Salute basilica buttresses the neighborhood to the east. Gondolas bob in the morning light. The Accademia Bridge crosses the Grand Canal. A back street doubles as basketball court. Palaces house residents, or like Ca' Foscari a university, or a museum like Ca’ Rezzonico that attracts Venetians for concerts. Dorsoduro reveals its industrial roots too, in buildings converted to house university departments or exhibitions. Campo Santa Margherita bursts with youthful energy from local students. Foot traffic bustles to and from Piazzale Roma and Santa Lucia train station. Evening commuters pause for an aperitivo. Neighbors exchange confidants in a campo (square) on their way to market.
