The black truffle pasta was delicious! Small and quaint.

A little hard to find, but worth it. Very small restaurant with defined seating for dinner. I was served the best black truffle pasta that I have ever had. Fantastic! Romantic! Lovely!

Went based on ratings at lunchtime. We were lucky. Nearly every table was reserved but we got there at the crack of opening. Food was VERY tasty - excellent pasta and rabbit. A little small on the sizing but it was lunch so we weren't too bothered. Didn't check out the clearly expansive wine selection.

Fabulous and friendly restaurant. They have only about 24 covers. You need to book. The raw fish starter was superb. This restaurant is a must when staying in Venice

Managed to get a last minute booking at this fantastic local restaurant in Venice. Great pasta with fresh seafood, attentive service and a comprehensive wine list. Bravo!

Walked past this beautiful small restaurant and it looked nice. Quality food, especially sea food. Long wine list with small exclusive wines and knowledgeable staff who can help find great food-wine pairings. Went here twice during a five day visit to Venice. Will definitely return next time in town!

Unlike many so called restaurants in Venice this is not one of those restaurants that offer a tourist menu, or that advertise free WiFi. This is a great, charming little restaurant that seems to serve lots of locals which in my book is a great sign, and the food was superb. I would recommend the pasta with prawns and strawberries,... The reviews for this wine bar were so good that I decided this was where we had to eat the one night we were in Venice. I called three weeks in advance to make a booking, but was told that they do not take bookings that far in advance and I should call back the week before our arrival. I... More

Some people will love this place, but it wasn't for me. The food is really good quality that's for sure, and the service is good, but I did not particularly enjoy my meal here. I ordered mackerel chowder with vegetables, or at least that is what I thought it was, but what I got was a few mackerels balanced on... More

When booking via the hotel I’d expected to be beside the canal but on arrival we were offered (and had apparently reserved) a table inside – we were warned there were mosquitos outside and as we’d already been bitten we accepted the table. Inside there were few diners, thus the atmosphere was quiet. I appreciated that it’s a family run... More

The best food we ate during 2 days in Venice. Huge flavours from simple and fresh ingredients. Best to book. Don't miss it.

Staying in Dorsoduro / Accademia

Neighborhood Profile
Dorsoduro / Accademia
Artsy is the defining mood of this neighborhood with street artists, students, painters, sculptors, restorers, curators, historians, collectors, heirs and heiresses rubbing elbows. Peggy Guggenheim's collection, now a museum, lures chic locals for evening art aperitifs. Traditionalists and visionaries cocoon in bohemian luxury. La Salute basilica buttresses the neighborhood to the east. Gondolas bob in the morning light. The Accademia Bridge crosses the Grand Canal. A back street doubles as basketball court. Palaces house residents, or like Ca' Foscari a university, or a museum like Ca’ Rezzonico that attracts Venetians for concerts. Dorsoduro reveals its industrial roots too, in buildings converted to house university departments or exhibitions. Campo Santa Margherita bursts with youthful energy from local students. Foot traffic bustles to and from Piazzale Roma and Santa Lucia train station. Evening commuters pause for an aperitivo. Neighbors exchange confidants in a campo (square) on their way to market.
