We visited this restaurant as recommended by our guidebook and were very impressed by it. It is a small restaurant with a cosy feel, the selection of local wines on offer is great. The food was excellent, I chose the lamb which was cooked to perfection and paired a glass of red wine with it. I would recommend this restaurant,... More

Abrupt service from a very arrogant waiter (note waiter not the chef), no lobster, no crab. Pollenta horrible. I don't know what it is about arrogant staff and indifferent food. There is too much competition both good and bad.

We ate here on our 1 night stay in Venice. It was dark when we ate and we sat outside in the courtyard. It was lovely being next to a canal and 2 small bridges. We had 2 pizzas and half a litre of house white wine and it was just over 30 euros which was very reasonable for Venice!... More

We ventured in bases on reviews and were not disappointed. The staff was friendly an attentive but not intrusive. We shared the antipasto platter and the flavours were so rich and varied. Wine by the glass is more than by the bottle (and very reasonable either way) so you can pair with each course. The waiters are only too happy... More

We had reservations made by our B&B and when we arrived it did not appear that they were necessary. The restaurant pretty close to where we were staying just a few minutes from the Bridge of Sighs. We were seated in the front section of the restaurant which contained a half dozen tables, one of which was occupied by 2... More

My fiancé and I went here after reading the reviews on trip adviser and it was worthy of the good reviews. Great wine selection and friendly people. The food was uncomplicated, tastey and perfectly cooked. The wine perfect. For two main meals, a bottle of wine and one desert it came to €70

Fabulous welcome with enormous knowledge of Gins. There are over 80 in the restaurant and all come with a story. Definitely recommended to all gin and wine lovers.

The waiter was very handsome, which was a saving grace for this weary traveler. The food was adequate, the wine delicious (it is a wine bar first and foremost, and they will sell you the wine whether you want it or not). I wouldn't necessarily go there again; I'm sure there are better places, but it was OK and part... More

Booking a table for 9pm is on the late side for a traditional restaurant but La Mascareta was buzzing the whole time we were there. The waiter who looked after us for the whole night was excellent. When we couldn't decide between courses, he suggested that they could split and share the courses between my wife and me, enabling us... More

Very nice restaurant. Authentic atmosphere. The waiters know their job very well. You get the whole story behind a wine or dish - lovely!
