Amazing food, Amazing wine what more do you want?

After reading the reviews we knew we had to make an appearance for dinner. We like to steer away from the tacky tourist traps so this was just what we were after. The waiters were welcoming and very patient with my very indecisive boyfriend. The food was amazing and tasted so good and their own... read more

We went because it was recommended and the restaurant was full when we arrived, so we had very high expectations. But it was very disappointing. The waiter refused to give us a wine list, which seems odd for a place that is recommended for its choice of wines. After some persistence the waiter recommended a Merlot from Friuli, which was... Fantastic little place somewhat off the tourist-beaten track with a fabulous array of wines that can be ordered by the glass or bottle with fair prices! This was our first visit to Venezia and we were intrigues based on other Trip Advisor reviews of this place. Somewhat quirky and with few tables the place seemed popular with a mixed clientele.... We have been coming to Venice for several years in March; this is our seventh visit here and we always MUST visit this place, for drinks and food. They have a fine selection of wine with amazing recommendations. In the past couple of years, they have also been offering numerous choices in gin, picking up on the latest trends in... More

This small gem is off the beaten path. We arrived late on a very cold night. I stepped inside to see if they had room to accommodate our party. It was warm, crowded and noisy, my glasses fogged over completely and a completely drunk patron, from a table of heavy drinking locals, started loudly, to make what I deduced to... More

My husband & I dined here for New Year's Eve, 2014. It was perhaps the best restaurant meal we've had (if not in the top 5 so as not to slight other favorite places.) Service was professional and as the evening approached midnight we felt as if we had been invited to a party. The fabulous host kept an eye... More

We dropped by at Mascareta for a glass of nice wine, looking for a slightly larger selection than usually available at the standard osteria. Obviously we didn't quite fit the bill of wine enthusiasts for the waiter. We were informed that the usual open wines were good enough for us. The mixed meat and cheese platter was pre-assembled some time... More

Delicious food and an even better choice of wine and open surprisingly late for a city that is normally asleep by midnight. After dinner I love their made tiramisù.

The food here is so fresh and seasonal AND delicious! Also, the local organic wine was perfect with the food ordered.

Enjoyed our meal here. It's a traditinal osteria menu but done well (everything made on premises and no pizza in sight). We left our wine choices to the sommelier and they were great matches to our fish soup and braised beef cheek. The beef cheek was so tender and subtly spiced. Our young children thought their duck and beef ragu... More
