Great first dinner in Venice

Recommended by our hosts and just a few steps away from our hotel, this restaurant surpassed our expectations. Enjoyed the clam and mussel appetizer. Loved the wine (ordered a second carafe!) Had black spaghetti with seafood. Yum! The service was relaxed and the price very reasonable. Would... read more

A nice place with friendly staff and a good atmosphere. The food was delicious and everything affordable. We had ravioli and fried calamari - both great, but the avocado prawns as appetiser was the highlight.

We had 45 minutes for a quick lunch as we were meeting others to go to the Ca Pesaro museum and it was pouring rain outside. When we entered at 1:45pm, we were told by a smiling lady they would stop serving by 3pm. No problem as we needed to be done by 2:30 pm and we were. For lunch... More

Just enjoyed a lovely meal here. Entered an empty restaurant to be told they were fully booked! ..... But not for an hour or so. We sat down and had one course. My black spaghetti with prawns and tomato was exquisite. Washed down with some very drinkable house wine made for a delightful meal.

They have good lunch set at good price. The grilled chicken is so delicious. Full of locals at lunch time.

This restaurant is less than 100metres from the Mocenigo Hotel. It is an unpretentious little place. The staff spoke good English and were well informed and helpful. For Venice the prices were reasonable. I would definitely go back again.

Excellent food, great waiter, service was a little slow, however the restaurant was packed and there was only one waiter (possibly the owner?) but very charismatic and friendly. Plus, it's always a good sign when you walk in and hear loads of Italians speaking! The food was fantastic. I had octopus carpaccio and then veal in a lemon butter sauce... More

Initially, my wife and I had planned to go to another restaurant, however hadn't checked that it was open on a Sunday evening. We're glad it wasn't! My wife suggested we try here and I'm glad she did. I had octopus carpaccio and the veal (which was to die for) and my wife had caprese and a tenderloin. Both meals... More

I researched this place on Trip Advisor and was encouraged by the good reviews from recent diners from around the globe. I was with four others so I searched for an available table for five and this place showed availability. When we arrived around 7:00pm, the place was nearly empty, but many tables had reserved signs on them. We were... More

The receptionist of our hotel advised us to dine in this restaurant, they said they guarantee that it is not a touristic restaurant, but more for locals and the food is great. We were not disappointed, the food was really very good and such a good see food, so fresh! We liked the service a lot, the waitress was very... More

Staying in San Polo

Neighborhood Profile
San Polo
The Rialto Bridge is the most famous sight along the Grand Canal in San Polo, smallest of Venice's six sestieri (districts) and by far the busiest neighborhood. Morning Venetians arrive to peruse the markets for fish, fruit and vegetables, while shops display goods from cheese to wine to desserts. San Silvestro and Rialto Market vaporetto (water taxi) stops add to the steady stream of foot traffic. San Polo is defined by churches including Basilica dei Frari, one of the most important churches sought by art lovers.
