Very nice meal!

This is a very small restaurant where you can avoid any loud touristy vibe. We ordered the house red wine(very good and reasonably priced) and the pasta arrabiata and the spaghetti with seafood. Both were tasted great (the arrabiata was very spicy!) and were priced well for the portions! If you... read more

My friend and I stopped at this small place to have a quick lunch. My friend ordered the cannelloni with ricotta and spinach and I went for the lasagna. We got the dishes straightaway as the food is just microwaved there, which I already find appalling, but the real shock came when we tasted it. My lasagna was not good... More

Terrible place. We were 4 adults and 4 children. 135 euros for 8 plater of precooked pasta; ONE Small frozen pizza 3 Small bottles of water and ONE Coffee. The most amazing Thing as you can see from outside is that is written "no Cover charge" and "no coperto" so you Imagine no surcharge but then you find 15% FIFTEEN%... More

How disappointed to find such a restaurant! The food is bad; tasteless and bad service! On top of it all, they charge a 15% service. You wonder why? This is the worst place I've eaten in all my life and I left without even touching my plate. It looked frozen and unappetizing! Please avoid at all costs!

A vegetable soup at 10.50 Euros which was tasteless, oily and no veggies at all. A pizza at 10 Euros which was about 10 cm diameter and looking like a frozen pizza. We stop eating at first bite and informed the manager that the food was terrible. He offered a discount and we left frustrated that such tourist trap exist... More

Where is the soul of this restaurant, that we have come to in the last fifteen years? It used to be a full place, small and animated and familiar. Customers felt and ate like at "mama's" in the kitchen. And now?! Empty, with warmed-up dishes. And, worst of everything: the outrageous 15% service!

My girlfriend and I stopped by here this evening for food and we were very disappointed with the whole experience. We walked past the previous evening and it looked nice (cosy and busy) so we clocked it and thought we'd go there the next evening. We were looking forward to a lovely meal but when we arrived a French couple... More

Outside is written: No Coperti... So you think its a tourist-friendly restaurant... But warch out! Inside is a tax listed of 15% for the service! And the sizes of the meals are half the normal size in italy... Its really disapointing, because the meal is not bad... But over 50Euros for 2 persons is way too much for a few... More

The Tortellini (fresh pasta) with prosciutto and cream sauce was amazing. The Lasagna Boligbesa was soupy and not great although the pasta was a great consistency. You can't by wine by the glass. The only 1/2 bottle available was a Nerlot and was not great. Place is tiny and humid and expensive, but most food is in Venice.

Like plenty of other tourists there comes a point when you are tired, hungry and thirsty and you turn a corner and say 'that'll do, lets go in here'. And so we did. Pleasant lunch but nothing spectacular although I did enjoy the location by the gondola stop so if you visit take a window seat in this cramped/cosy bistro.... More

Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
