Description: La Caravella restaurant in Venice can be discovered immediately behind the newly-restored La Fenice theatre, just a few meters from Piazza San Marco. Stepping inside, you will feel as if you have entered an antique sailing ship, with dark wood paneling, capstans and ropes and leaded windows. In summer,La Caravella moves into a flower-filled courtyard complete with original wells, or the lighter courtyard dining room with typical Venetian ambience. The menu is typically Venetian too, with dishes like classic saor, marinated sardines with onions, pine kernels and raisins, fish soup, or oven roast turbot with potatoes and olives. In addition, the chef uses fresh seasonal ingredients to create trendier fare. The excellent wine list features both historical wine producers and smaller boutique vintners. Planning a party? La Caravella welcomes wedding receptions, private dinners, banquets, corporate entertaining, even coffee breaks. The garden seats up to 65 and one of the dining rooms up to 75.

We spent our last night in Venice celebrating my in-laws 50th Wedding Anniversary with Vincenzo and his staff and we left wishing we had spent every night there!! The location and atmosphere were perfect and the food was the best we had on our trip. I would highly recommend that you let them show you how 51 years of experience... More

La Caravella does not fit into the basic travel budget, but if you're up for a splurge go for it. Located on the fashionable shopping street XXII Marzo, there is a beautiful outdoor courtyard. The branzino is the best. I think it's about 40 euros so you decide.

I love this place. My husband and I stumbed upon it as we were walking back to our hotel after dinner. We sat in the cozy bar area and had wine and canapes. We were frlendly with the staff and it was the perfect nightcap. The next night all we could think about was getting back here for our final... More

We visited this restaurant to celebrate our 25th Wedding Anniversary. If you are in Venice and celebrating a special occasion this is your place. The food was delicious, the choice of wine excellent and the service attentive and friendly could not be faulted.

I didn't eat in the restaurant but ordered an amazing cheese platter in the bar to go with an expertly mixed negroni. Service was friendly and the bar busy with locals in family groups either drinking or waiting for their tables in the restaurant.

I found restaurant La Caravella, when I asked a local gentleman in Venice, that where he would have a dinner. La Caravella is a cosy, very italian restaurant. They make their pasta and bread themselves the same day. The red wine of the house , vino rosso della casa is great. The ingredients are so fresh. As an antipasti, take... More

La Caravella serves up very good food by a professional and attentive wait staff. One of our dishes was quite salty but when you consumed the fish with some of the sides it worked much better. The restaurant has a nautical theme and is dimly lit like an old school steakhouse might be in the US. The menu is classic... More

Looking for a place to unwind after walking all day, we literally stumbled into this quaint little bar which has a restaurant next to it. We had a plate to nibble on, a bottle of wine and a couple of drinks, all good. The atmosphere is outstanding to unwind which is what we were looking for. If in the vicinity,... More

La Caravella was attached to our hotel - Saturnia International. Due to all of the rave reviews, we decided that dining here was a must! Food: I found the food at La Caravella to be very good. Out of everything that I ordered, the tuna was a stand-out. It was a nice break from all of the pasta and pizza... More
