Best Restaurant in Venice!!

We ate at 3 other high-end restaurants and, hands down, Bistrot de Venise was absolutely the best! They are not over-priced as the others and the service is excellent! Included with your meal is an appetizer and dessert sampler...an unexpected surprise and delicious! Since it's situated at a dead... read more

We booked this place in advance for our anniversary. I couldn't wait! The restaurant is lovely, charming, romantic and down to details. We got great table and lovely, relaxing time. However it was a busy night so the service wasn't perfect, the food wasn't as we expected:( good, honest quality, tasty but not amazing. Tiramisu was still frozen inside. But... More

It was a stone's throw from our hotel and highly rated on TA, so we went for lunch after checking into the hotel. We ordered the scallops with fresh tomatoes in olive oil, goose pasta and the duck with dried apple and chutney. All the dishes were delicious and the flavors exploded in the mouth with every bite. They even... More

Really enjoyed our lunch today. The San Miguel beer was really tasty too. My brother is gluten free and he said his pats was excellent as was the normal menu. We had the summer pasta, and dumplings.eaten at a few places and this would be hard to top

We had a wonderful historic meal right near St Marks square. We were so glad ww walked past the pizza places. The waiters were great and attentive. The food was well presented. I had the duck breast, it was perfectly cooked. My daughter had the parmasian turbo. Food was great ready for more touring

We enjoyed two very good dinners at Bistrot de Venise, with thanks to maître d' Walter. We first visited because of the good reviews on TripAdvisor and because it was close to our apartment. We returned again because the food was so good. The staff went out of its way to accommodate us, even late at night. Our meals were... More

found the restaurant cramped, lighting too bright . The food was of a poor standard. we had pasta and found to be stodgy. The courgette starter was very good though and the wine recommended for 70 euros was decent enough and probably as the chef had little to do with crushing the grapes and bottling it, turned out to be... Certainly one of the highlights of our trip to Venice. Flawless service and extensive menu with superb wine list. Not cheap but a good option for a special night of dining.

This is a Michelin rated restaurant so is not cheap but worth every euro. Greeting, Service, Food and wine second to none and right beside our hotel. Will eat here every night next time and avoid disappointment at other cafes.

Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
