Excellent food and service

The best meal we had in Venice. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and very elegant. The food was original and delicious, not ordinary, and the choice of wine impressive. The meal was expensive but worth every penny.

This restaurant was highly recommended by our hotel as a wonderful way to end our 11 day vacation. What a disappointment! Their first question upon seating us was "Which hotel recommended you?" Our waiter (Walter) was pompous, rude, and essentially nonexistent. My teenage daughter is a picky eater and is embarrassed to ask to have dishes altered to her taste.... More

Located close to St. Marks Square, this restaurant was very convenient. Food was good but not great and a bit expensive for what you get. The ravioli and risotto were the 2 best items we had. I would skip dessert next time and get gelato instead. Service was good. Be aware a 12% service charge is included in the bill.

Had a few meals in Venice and was pretty disappointed until I came here. The service was good for Venice...which is lacking in general. The food and ambiance were also good, I recommend the swordfish. I was appreciative of their help in accommodating us for the special occasion that was celebrated. I'd come here again

Perhaps the confusion in the reviews here is from the fact that this is not a bistro (or bistrot) at all. A bistro is "a small restaurant serving moderately priced simple meals in a modest setting." This is a moderately fancy restaurant complete with side-tables, amuse bouches, petit fours, a sommelier, classical music through the speakers, and (unusual for Italy)... More

We visited the restaurant during my husband's birthday weekend in Venice. We're both foodies and were very happy with the excellent food and service that we received. There was also a complimentary amuse bouche and mini-dessert. The restaurant was expensive, but the food was excellent and I don't mind paying for great food on a special occasion. Strangely the restaurant... More

I enjoyed heart cake, really delicious one to my experience. But seafood (shrimp and fish) not really good enough and under my expectation especially at level of pricing.

Excellent restaurant in Venice! One of the few restaurants that live up to their Michelin star. Reservation was made by our hotel and we had a beautiful table outside on a fantastic night. The service was top notch and the waiter really added to our meal with the wine recommendations. Highlights were the soft crabs and the pasta and goose.... More

The sommelier is really knowledgable which is a great plus! The food is wanna be haut cuisine; it is neither nor. Given the small menue one could expect fresh food... Not the case. Definitely not to recommend

We had reserved long in advance and confirmed a booking for 22.30 for a special event and asked for a particularly nice table. We were highly disappointed that no table was set aside and we were seated in the uninteresting front room by the bar. The champagne was good and the scampi and the duck OK, but the atmosphere and... Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
