We went twice during our recent holiday in Venice, from which you'd be right to deduce that the first time was really good, with interesting food from their Historic Menu (dishes dating back centuries), and warmly efficient service. The second time, though, would barely have rated three stars on its own. The Head Waiter was the most appalling prima donna... More

Went inside the restaurant because of its Tripadvisor and Michelin Star sticker on the door. Sat in the back in Walter's station. He's well-seasoned/knowledgeable but he came off like a snob and rushed us for our orders. In his rushing, he did push my friend into one of the better dishes (Lobster appetizer & Umbrian fish for entree) on our... More

We were recommended to eat here and I'm so glad we did, of all the places in Venice to eat this is a must. The room we ate in was small and intimate, perfect for our romantic meal, with Casanova looking on! The food was exceptional with plenty of Amuse Bouches to tease the palate. Every course was explained in... More

Everything from the food to the service was spot on! Our waiter Tony was an absolutely pleasure, and guided us towards some delicious picks. This would be in my top 10 of places I have are at around the world! The eggplant dumplings were so light and fluffy! My mother order the duck, and it was the best duck I... More

I was really looking forward to this dinner having booked ahead via the internet. On this trip we have been to some wondterful fine dining in Rome and Florence. Bistrot de Venise did not meet the same standards. Ambiance: Beautiful restaurant however, like another viewer said… the lighting was way up and the music as well. Not tasteful at all... More

We ate at three places in Venice, here, CoVino and Bauer de Pisis. This came out the worst for a number of reasons. The restaurant lacked atmosphere, lighting was up (I do need good lighting to see the menu, but it was almost at operating theatre level!) There are a lot of rooms, and it felt a little like we... I have eaten here on several occasions over the years. Although it is expensive dining, it is truly fine dining and memorable dining. You will leave very full and very satisfied. The historic Venetian menu give options to try recipes from ancient times. They also have contemporary Venetian cuisine. The portions are generous. The wait staff are very helpful. A... More

Not your everyday typical meal, but worth the experience. Very friendly and professional stuff, and a great sommelier. In a city where every place can be a tourist trap, this restaurant was a refreshing addition to our trip. Expensive, yes but at least worth it.

A little disappointed not to be seated in the main room, however we did not book in advance and the menu and level of service quickly made up for this. The food is simply amazing and an absolute must for anyone travelling to Venice.

This is truly a fantastic restaurant. We went on the recommendation of our hotel on our first night in Venice, and it did not disappoint. Our waiter immediately brought us complimentary glasses of prosecco, which was much appreciated. We ordered the three-course menu, and were pleased with a special appetizer pastry which was mindblowingly delicious. And the sommelier helped us... More
