Arrived at 7pm on a wet Thur night with family of five (I think seating starts at 7:30pm) as the restaurant was empty. Informed a short Italian fellow that we have no reservations. He was not verbally impolite but from his body language (Instead of eye contact fr a service personnel I could see his eyes looking at how we... More

I guess we have eaten here maybe 6 times over the last few years. The food is inventive, the service excellent and the wine list extensive (and expensive). This time was a birthday treat for me and the best birthday present I could imagine.

Remember, this is Italy, this is Venice, this is very, very close to the sea..... So seafood is kind of what to expect. That said the pasta's are all excellent with some sort of seafood twist, whether it's fish, molluscs or raw fish appetisers...it's all very tasty and creatively blended. Veal is great ....but try the seafood combined with the... More

I dare to say that this is Venice's best restaurant. Let the chef and the maître take care of your meal: outstanding raw and cooked fish appetisers, stupendous tuna carpaccio with white truffle, outstanding lemon risotto with red snapper, impeccable duck with chicken liver sauce. Rose Spumante and local red wine from heaven. Friendly and professional service in cozy interior... More

We dined here on a recommendation and it was absolutely stunning. The food was exceptional, and full of fresh flavours and ingredients. Each dish was served very creatively on the plate, and the entrée of four different shell fish was amazing. The service was polite and friendly, and the waiter was very knowledgeable on the wine list. He recommended a... More

We went to this restaurant on the basis of tripadvisor reviews & can fully endorse. We ate two different tasting menus which gave us a huge range to try & enjoy. The octopus, tuna carpaccio and veal were the highlights. The service was very friendly with a good wine recommendation. Would recommend.

We discovered this place form Tripadvisor and had one of our best meals in venice. They have a taster menu but we went for a la carte. The portions were big so I recommend to share starters. The have an innovative menu; we tried sea food and they were perfect. The staff was friendly and local wine was tasty. Overall... More

We were looking forward to eating here and were a little disappointed with the service once they realised that we were not going for the taster menu and we shared starters as we had been told they were very big. It was a nice restaurant, but I would not rush to go back.

We were directed to this restaurant by the front desk at our hotel. It was in a quiet square about a 4 minute walk from the Rialto Bridge. It was a little pricey but, after all, it is Venice. We were delighted with the food and the service. The portions are huge. We would have split an entree had we... More

An out of the way spot recommended by an expat friend in the US proved worth the walk. Highly innovative food in an unremarkable but homey setting. Charming staff and a great local wine made this one of our best meals in Italy. Go by all means and try the Ragose Amarone.
