Amazing, make a reservation.

This is a very small, but absolutely lovely restaurant. The service is excellent. We started with a bottle of wine, I can't remember the name, it was a blend recommended by the waiter which went well with our meal. I went there with 3 friends for dinner. Table was booked for 21.30h and we didn't wait. It is a tiny restaurant with only few tables. We ordered fish which is fresh from the market. A 3 courses meal with starter, main and dessert cost us €55 each. Water and only 3 glasses wine, it would have been considerably more... More

We dined here after reading about it in Rick Steves’ book, and it was everything he said it would be. We stopped by the night before to make recommendations and got the last table for the 9:30 seating. It is a very small place with under 20 tables so reservations are required. The menu only has pasta and fish dishes,... More

Ten tables, two seatings, and unforgettable seafood cuisine, prepared and presented with Venetian flair. The wait staff offer outstanding advice on dishes and wines. Not to be missed.

Fun and great food too. We liked it so much we went twice. Very small, we had 9:30 PM reservations both nights. Co-owner served us both nights at the same table. Outstanding bread, good wine and laughter started the evening and then it got better as we went. Me and his partner have been in business 22 years. Highly recommend.

Tiny little restaurant, so you need to book in advance! Lovely, friendly staff and cheerful atmosphere, not pretentious at all. The most delicious fish - simply cooked, freshest ingredients from the market. Yum!

Recommended to us by a grocery shop attendant. It was closed for a couple of days and we found it to be open on our last night. Reserved a place and went. Loved the food. Simple decor and a small cozy place. End of dinner made reservations for next day lunch before we left Venice. Best food we had in... More

One of the best meals I've ever had. The food is absolutely amazing. Everything we tried was just great. Is a very small place and very hard to find. You need to make reservations.

This restaurant deserves all the credit given in various customer reviews. Seriously good restaurant. I do not want to eloborate more on this matter with classic sentences but I assure everyone that they will get a good food and service at a reasonable price at Venice standards. On the other hand, two points to note 1) Although it is not... More

It's hard to find this unassuming place: I walked by it twice before noticing the sign in the awning. As almost every other review testifies, the food is fabulous, but my friend's crab starter had some large sharp pieces of crab shell in it. They apologised, did not charge us for it, and offered a complimentary and totally delicious dessert... More

Staying in Castello

Neighborhood Profile
Castello
Castello is the largest of the six sestieri (districts), and the only one not facing onto the Grand Canal. More than half of Castello is situated within Arsenale, the naval base, which occupies over one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime neighborhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals criss-crossed by laundry. Semiannual exhibitions add a strong artsy current to the Arsenale area. Via Garibaldi in Castello, with its shops and bars, has one of Venice's rare straight and wide boulevards. When a large ship turns around the Lido to enter the Giudecca Canal, the startling sight creates an illusion that it will run aground right on Via Garibaldi! Families treasure Giardini near the island's tip, green with rare trees and grass, and Riva degli Schiavoni is a popular spot for Venetians to take a stroll to watch the sunset.
