Nice drink but very overpriced for the surroundings.

Bellini was good. But the bar itself is very small and cramped. No atmosphere or music playing. Wifi didn't work either. Staff were very nice but there white suits looked quite warn and greying. Nice olives with your drink but overpriced for what it is b

A group of 6 of us visited Harry's Bar as it came recommended by a friend of mine. We were undecided if we wanted to eat, so we had a look at the menu, and decided not to. We were offered the drinks menu, and decided on a number of drinks,. The Bellini I had was very nice. It was... More

This visit was because of the Bellini originating from here. So we had a bellini and it WAS excellent. So was the food, I had the soup and I've not stopped telling everyone how amazing it was!! A soup!!! Never expected to rave over such a simple food item!

Really close to Piazza San Marco, great place to stop for a quick drink and a rest. Nice, small and cosy. Pricey, would probably not buy more than one drink as it's expensive, but that being said had a really great bellini and have to say was given some of the best olives I have ever had. Would recommend, was... More

Stopped in for an early lunch and had an immensely enjoyable experience. The food was wonderful, the service was friendly and attentive, the drinks were absolutely fine (a perfect Negroni) and to top it all off the place has a great vibe.

This famous bar was located very close to our hotel and given the hype we decided to go for pre dinner drinks. This place is grossly over-rated with an extremely dull room with no views despite being right on the Grand Canal (this was January). Whilst the cocktails were excellent, they are extremely pricey and the attitude of some of... More

Yes the place has a bit of history (you wouldn't be able to tell from just walking in) but it's very expensive and nothing to sing and dance about. Staff never cracked a smile the whole time. Just had the one as wasn't worth staying for longer!

Expensive, but you should visit. Get a taste of the history. Take a glass of Bellini in the charming atmosphere of Mediaeval city.

Well, to be honest, the main reason for my visit to Harry's Bar is purely Hemingway-driven. And it was not a disappointment at all. It's true that the drinks here are very expensive (16.5 Euro for a small glass of Bellini). But if you love Bellini, this is definitely the place to visit (it invented Bellini!). And if you love... Legend has it that the Bellini was created here, so for that reason alone its a must! We stayed long enough for a bellini and croquettes! Its quaint, but not a place I would recommend for dinner...more like an afternoon snack! Only downside was finding the place. We asked several people for directions, and most gave us different directions. Take... More

Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
