Perfect lunch spot

My husband and I were exploring Venice on a cool January day and wanted a light lunch that would warm us up. We stumbled upon Da Sandro and found just that. My husband ordered a beer and I got the house red wine - for 2 euros, it was quite good. I was determined to try pasta e fagioli while... read more

My husband and I ate dinner here on our trip to Venice in late September. We had asked the couple from whom we rented our apartment for some nearby recommendations and this is one of the spots they suggested. We found it to be a pleasant, reasonably-priced spot with very good seafood pasta. My husband had a pasta dish with... More

Fell into this restaurant for lunch. Had a beer and Lasagna. Very nice simple place. Reasonable prices, nice people and air conditioned.

I stopped here multiple times during my four days in Venice; most of the time I only sat outside and enjoyed a spritz or two. We decided that we would give the food menu a try one evening for dinner. We started with the cicchetti plate, which was a mix of various seafood....all very good. And it was pretty large,... More

As we walked back to the train station after all day shopping and sightseeing in Venice, we were thirsty and chose to stop at this nice small bar and restaurant. We first sat outside and watched people go. We then moved inside and had more drinks and ordered the cold meats dish for two. It was great with lots of... More

Found this restaurant/bar by chance. Had a quick look in and asked if they had a toilet for patrons which they did. (Some of the smaller establishments don't and at €2.00 each in the public loos it all adds up.) We each had an aperol spritzer at €3.50 each and sat outside with them where we had a short but... Small restaurant in the ally in Venice. Food was very good! We had lasagna (very yum) and cuttlefish spaghetti. They are both very delicious. Value was good. 2 dishes for 22 Euros. They are not open on Sunday.

nice service, good live music of various kinds, from New Orleans blues to psychedilic Gaelic music. Did not try the food. The gueast are all unique and worth talking to.

Stumble in this place while looking for another one and if you arte lucky me you would be attracted by the fact that there were only locals in. Atmosphere was friendly, prices average and food was great, especially fish. I had cuttlefish and it was extremely

Staying in San Polo

Neighborhood Profile
San Polo
The Rialto Bridge is the most famous sight along the Grand Canal in San Polo, smallest of Venice's six sestieri (districts) and by far the busiest neighborhood. Morning Venetians arrive to peruse the markets for fish, fruit and vegetables, while shops display goods from cheese to wine to desserts. San Silvestro and Rialto Market vaporetto (water taxi) stops add to the steady stream of foot traffic. San Polo is defined by churches including Basilica dei Frari, one of the most important churches sought by art lovers.
