Visited for a quick dinner before catching a train back to Verona at the end of a day out in Venice. Chose this restaurant because it was a bit away from the more touristed areas and near to the station. The food was excellent and the staff helpful at explaining the menu. The turbot we had was fresh and perfectly... More

Well worth finding this place. It is small so we decided to eat soon after 7pm and got a table on arrival. Very busy with locals. The mixed meat starter is really nice and big enough for 2 people. The grilled fish was quite amazing, if you want veg/potato order separately. Excellent wine menu, we had a very pleasant bottle... More

This small restaurant is situated on Rio Marin which is nearly opposite the station. It was recommended by a friend and the 20 minute walk from the Rialto Bridge was more than worthwhile. The short menu was explained,in flawless English, by the charming Sam. We chose scallops and razor clams cooked with ginger and mint which were the most delicious... More

Oh.My.God. Why, oh why, did You allow me to find this lovely jewelbox of a restaurant? From now on, every razor clam, each squid, every turbot filet, will be measured against this spectacular cafe. Never again will I enjoy tagliatelle with mixed seafood quite the same. I'll never see pumpkin ravioli in the same light. Gnocchi with squid ink and... More

Just saying in the title, as I only found out until we were there ;-). Small restaurant, new and cozy feeling. The menu is in Italian, but the staff is more then happy to explain to you in English. Beautiful, creative dishes! So tasty and so fresh! If you're not sure what you feel like ordering, let the staff do... More

We found this restaurant by accident while walking to another recommended by our hotel. It isn't cheap (certainly in comparison with the next door Al Garzoti) but it is good. We both ate fish (different dishes) and were very pleased with both. Service also very good. Wine slightly less impressive or I might have given it 5.

Have been to Venice several times but tonight found a fantastic restaurant called Trefanti. across the Grand Canal from the station it was very welcoming with very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful staff - an intimate restaurant with the best food I have had in Venice. Seek it out and have a fantastic experience!

The waiter was fantastic, the food amazing, best in Venice. Restaurant stayed open when we ran late. Pumpkin ravioli and turbot dishes were superb.

An exciting menu that looks great and tastes even better. Staff is cordial and well informed, the ambiance is cozy and modern. We tried the scallops and the shrimp antipasto. Scallops are hard to be inventive with but the brave chef tried anyway, I'd love to be able to write that he was successful but scallops are sensitive and their... More
