The best meal we had in Venice

This restaurant was recommended to us by Hotel Boutique Arcadia. I would highly recommend this restaurant. It is slightly hidden from the main path. Walked by it a time or two but AMAZING food. Getting decent and reasonably priced food turned out to be a challenge in Venice.... surprisingly... But we accidentally stumbled upon this charming place eventually - and lo and behold, superb food, elegant (but not kitschy) design, quiet and friendly atmosphere. Do ask them for some limoncelo, the stuff they gave us seemed homemade and was simply heavenly.

This restaurant has a beautiful interior and food to match. Service was great, all of the waiters and the manager were friendly and very professional. We had the black spaghetti, salad, stuffed pasta sea bass and tiramisu. Complimentary limoncello was also served after the meal. Classy restaurant in a city with lots of tourist traps.

We made a booking earlier in the day and arrived in time for a quiet early service, we opted for a table right by the canal and couldn't fault the service or quality of the food. Definitely go for an outside table if available, it really added to the romance of the occasion. The staff took great care of us... More

Discovered this place at the beginning of our visit to Venice and liked it so much revisited on our final night. We wanted the table outside that looks out on to the canal so popped in early to book. It was the day of the Venice tornado and had there had already been a torrential rain shower. We were told... More

We were excited to try this restaurant after reading so many good reviews. I have to say it was not that good. The sea bass appetizer was good, but we ordered the eggplant pasta and the sea bass with saffron sauce for dinner and it was not good at all. The sea bass had a "fishy" smell to it and... More

A great find. Food is excellent. We had the pork masala and sesame tuna with grilled vegetables as a side. Contemporary decor works surprisingly well.

We spent 5 nights in Venice, 3 of these evenings we ate at this fantastic restaurant. Not only was the food the best Italian we have eaten , but the staff were so helpful and courteous. We received the highest service possible.

Our meal here was at short notice so we weren't hoping for much judging from some of the reviews. The atmosphere wasn't typically italian as it is quite modern in decor. Despite this we had great seafood and good service.

It was very late and most places were shutting but it was no trouble for these guys to not only welcome us but not rush us so they could close up. We only had pizza but we live in Italy a few days each month for work and it was a great pizza. Furthermore the place was spotless and the... More

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighborhood Profile
Cannaregio
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighborhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
