Living in Venice, Americans might have to get used to living without the savory American breakfast, of eggs and bacon. For me, I don't care for sweets or pastry in the morning. That's where Bar Rialto comes in! Their tramezzini (soft white bread sandwiches) are some of the best in the city and just what I need for breakfast. They... More

Saw this on Tripadviser and headed there for a beer and sandwich, not disappointed. Quality great and prices low. Service pleasant. Offered too much cash and reassured "we are not the Cipriani" as server returned wads of notes. If you have a big appetite you might want a couple of these delicious sandwiches.

Hidden in behind some shops on the San Polo side of the Rialto Bridge, Bar Rialto da Lollo is our go-to place when setting off for our daily adventure. We've just returned from 3 weeks in Venice. Each time we're there we have breakfast daily at Bar Rialto da Lollo. Wonderful selection of fresh and unusual [For Americans] sandwiches at... More

The restaurant was slightly hard to find. Cappuccino was awesome. We ordered vegetarian sandwich, and that was great too.

Good bar obviously feeding the local market workers. Smile, no great pretensions. We drank Prosecco and coffee. Both good. Food looked fine, certainly many happy lunchers.

We were first told about this place in 2009 and just came back again and it is still excellent. Tasty sandwiches either pre-made or made to order, and amazing macchiatos also. The guys are very friendly and helpful and kind and the food is just right for a lunch stop. It is my "must stop place" in Venice. So good... More

Found this place using T.A. and was very pleased. My wife and I wanted a quick lunch while near the Rialto Bridge and with a little effort (it's tucked in behind the various outdoor booths near the bridge, found Bar Rialto. Perfect spot for a really good sandwich, delivered quickly and very reasonably priced. Appeared to be lots of locals... More

The title says it all, a wonderful range of snacks but the sandwiches are amazing no skimpy fillings here, very close to the Rialto Market.

We were looking for places on tripadvisor and found this on our way to the Rialto bridge. So tiny but our food and drinks were delicious and we couldn't believe the great prices!! We tried some small sandwiches on soft fresh bread and they were great! We had cappachino as well as one of many spritz while in Venice! Super... More

Staying in San Polo

Neighborhood Profile
San Polo
The Rialto Bridge is the most famous sight along the Grand Canal in San Polo, smallest of Venice's six sestieri (districts) and by far the busiest neighborhood. Morning Venetians arrive to peruse the markets for fish, fruit and vegetables, while shops display goods from cheese to wine to desserts. San Silvestro and Rialto Market vaporetto (water taxi) stops add to the steady stream of foot traffic. San Polo is defined by churches including Basilica dei Frari, one of the most important churches sought by art lovers.
