I took the pesto sauce with fusili which I definitely recommend. The marinara my boyfriend had was fine, but a little bit to spicy for pastasauce. We found it on tripadvisor, because it is in a really small alley. Worth to take the detour.

Excellent place for a quick lunch. The line was long but went fast. Be careful where you go to enjoy (no seating allowed on the bridges). Easy to find and affordable.

This place is the best. First and foremost, understand what this place is: It is a very small "take out" type restaurant which is meant for a quick and easy meal. What it also is: A nice variety of extremely fresh sauces with perfectly done pasta which can be matched to your liking. The food is simple, delicious and the... More

Amazing Pasta, there was a line up to get in there, but it was well worth it. Order your pasta, pick it up, and we sat outside on a ledge sipping our wines. Excellent Pasta

We only read about this place about 30 minutes before we set out to find dinner. It is very close and easy to find from San Marcos, and we were greeted cheerfully when we walked in. The menu was easy to understand and reasonably priced. The lady who served us was funny, super friendly, and suggested that we eat in... More

What can I say? The staff was sooo friendly and funny. And the thought of having pasta while walking around the streets of Venice is so taunting haha. Pasta was good though... Just a bit overcooked for me.

Staying in Castello

Neighborhood Profile
Castello
Castello is the largest of the six sestieri (districts), and the only one not facing onto the Grand Canal. More than half of Castello is situated within Arsenale, the naval base, which occupies over one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime neighborhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals criss-crossed by laundry. Semiannual exhibitions add a strong artsy current to the Arsenale area. Via Garibaldi in Castello, with its shops and bars, has one of Venice's rare straight and wide boulevards. When a large ship turns around the Lido to enter the Giudecca Canal, the startling sight creates an illusion that it will run aground right on Via Garibaldi! Families treasure Giardini near the island's tip, green with rare trees and grass, and Riva degli Schiavoni is a popular spot for Venetians to take a stroll to watch the sunset.
