We stumbled across this gem wandering the back streets of Venice and noticing the queue outside a plain fronted shop, asked what the fuss was about. Only the best fresh pasta at a bargain price you'll find anywhere, let alone in Venice! Very helpful staff, excellent and quick service, and wonderful food - all for 5/6 euros. Fantastic!

One would not expect much looking at Dal Moro's. Quite literally a hole in the wall they still manage to consistently produce the best pasta I have ever tasted. The line of people waiting to order stretches around the corner may look intimidating but do not let it dissuade you. They serve pasta in a take out style. You walk... More

The crowded calle when school lets out tells you everything: this is a great place for pasta to go. You can eat at the little counter inside, if there's room. This place will save your budget, both financial and in terms of time. Perfectly satisfactory pasta and wine. It's ready before you know it--and you will be, too.

We're in Venice for 3 days and we plan to have lunch here everyday. It's that good and the value is unbeatable. Today I got the olive oil based sauce and it was definitely my favorite. Do not miss a chance to eat here. If the line is long, don't worry. It moves very quickly.

I enjoyed the pasta and even went back on my second day in Venice to try a different pasta. It is very fresh. The chicken bolognese was my favorite and the palmadoro was the runner up. Don't get the chicken sausage add on, it just leads to disappointment.

For Venice's consumer prices €7 for a big bowl of 4 cheese pasta plus ham is more than reasonable. The little shop 's really busy as they open at 12. The pasta is fresh and sauce is so yummy. We definitely would recommend this place to anyone

Tastiest fresh pasta we had on our tour around Italy! They make fresh pasta and sauces everyday. When you arrive you pick which pasta and sauce you'd like - these can can change as they make it all fresh every day. The girl who served us was really friendly, explained to us about the pasta and gave us a little... More

Staying in Castello

Neighborhood Profile
Castello
Castello is the largest of the six sestieri (districts), and the only one not facing onto the Grand Canal. More than half of Castello is situated within Arsenale, the naval base, which occupies over one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime neighborhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals criss-crossed by laundry. Semiannual exhibitions add a strong artsy current to the Arsenale area. Via Garibaldi in Castello, with its shops and bars, has one of Venice's rare straight and wide boulevards. When a large ship turns around the Lido to enter the Giudecca Canal, the startling sight creates an illusion that it will run aground right on Via Garibaldi! Families treasure Giardini near the island's tip, green with rare trees and grass, and Riva degli Schiavoni is a popular spot for Venetians to take a stroll to watch the sunset.
