The restaurant is close to the famous Rialto open market, where the Chef every day buys the best products to be served to our customers with the smells and tastes of the lagoon. The Chef is local and the kitchen is integrated with typical Venetian dishes and exquisite Italian cuisine. We use ingredients of the highest quality such as "Pasta Mancini" of Monte San Pietrangeli (Abruzzo Region) and Matera bread (Basilicata Region), meat from Piedmont Region and of course, fresh fish from the Rialto market behind the corner !If you will appreciate the difference you'll want to buy a book of Venetian cuisine that we will be happy to sell you with recipes translated into English to try at home.

This place is a local restaurant not touristic. And every dish is fantastic. Stuff is very friendly and food is excellent. You should visit and try whatever you like to eat. Lovely

me and my fiancé ordered the steak and vegetables and fries on the side. when the steak turned up it was on one plate and sliced into 5 thin pieces. ( and no veg ever turned up) we asked where the other steak was and she said that was to share. considering it was 22 euros EACH you'd expect it... More

Had some amazing raw fish that the chef recommended that wasn't on the menu. Cost a bit, but was some of the best we've had so was well worth it. I guess it came from the fish market just across the way. The pizza was great too (although we didn't have a bad pizza anywhere there!), but the herb ravioli... More

My last time in Venice was on April 1985 and I was even not 7 years old... So I'm totally newbie and have no idea where eat at reasonable price local classic food. Luckily my friend is 100% Venetian and suggest me this place. In one big tourists spot as Venice you've to choose places used by locals! Is a... More

We have found this restaurant at night in a dark alley when exploring Venice. Going in was the best decision we have taken. It was from far the best meal we had in Venice. Average prices, not touristy at all, good food and service. I am planning on going there again when I go back to Venice.

Inexplicable. Four of us ate there--two ordered a Caprese salad and a pizza to share. The salad showed up, along with the two other diner's meals. The salad was good; my fish combo was interesting; the beef with potatoes was flatly awful--wildly overcooked, tasteless and rubbery. I tasted it and would not under any circumstances recommend it. Meanwhile, the pizza... More

The order of the pizza was added later and the customer had been warned that probably could not be satisfied. Despite this he wanted to insist and wait, but the restaurant was full and the kitchen has failed, unfortunately to oblige. Sorry, but we can not do wonders .... More

This is truly and remains one of the best restaurants in Venice. Very good typical Venetian food, good wines, very nice service, wonderful atmosphere and fair price/value. Bravo. We can strongly recommend this restaurant close to Rialto bridge. If you like it, order Spaghetti squid and sardines marinated lukewarm.

Very warm, family and friendly staff! Tasteful and original dishes - which is rare for Italy because sometimes restaurants offer redundant pasta dishes. Nice outside terrace, enjoyable atmosphere, very romantic! Try the Seiche Linguine, delicious and unique!

Staying in San Polo

Neighborhood Profile
San Polo
The Rialto Bridge is the most famous sight along the Grand Canal in San Polo, smallest of Venice's six sestieri (districts) and by far the busiest neighborhood. Morning Venetians arrive to peruse the markets for fish, fruit and vegetables, while shops display goods from cheese to wine to desserts. San Silvestro and Rialto Market vaporetto (water taxi) stops add to the steady stream of foot traffic. San Polo is defined by churches including Basilica dei Frari, one of the most important churches sought by art lovers.
