The restaurant is indeed as described - atmospheric, authentic and just opposite an interesting gondola repair yard. Beverages and food are good as well. I would have rated it highly - except one of the staff (part owner?) tried to rip me off. I ordered a coffee, a glass of wine and two crostini and offered a 20 Euro note.... More

The snacks (mainly crostini) are terriffic! And the price is right, so you can enjoy 3 to 4 of them and even treat yourself and your company to a nice glass of wine.

Whilst touring Venice with the family we visited here because of the reviews on Tripadvisor. So very pleased we did, good welcome by the staff, super cool A/C which was very much appreciated in the 32c sunshine. The staff spoke enough English to explain the Cicchettis which were absolutely delicious, for €1.5 each and the Prosecco lovely and cold €2.5.... More

Great friendly service - a really good vibe - love the location on the canal looking out at the gondola repair yard. We sat inside chatted to locals - worth a visit

Wonderful place to have snack and spritz. Many different tapas like snacks to choose from. The place is small but you can enjoy your meal outside by the river bank and watch gondolas pass by.

We stopped by Osteria Al Squero for a quick snack to hold us over until Dinner and had a great experience. The staff spoke English and were very helpful. Wine was only 2,50 euro! Need I say more?

We stumbled across this little place and honestly it turned out to be one of our best days in Venice. Beautiful chichetti for ridiculously low prices. Seen then being made right there and then, we ended up trying about 12 different ones my favourite was definately the Gorgonzola with balsamic so simple but tasty! The staff were so friendly and... On our way to our dinner we popped into this little place where they serve great crostini and relatively cheap drinks. The atmosphere is very nice with locals and tourist and u can stand outside easily and look at the gondelas passing by.

Staying in Dorsoduro / Accademia

Neighborhood Profile
Dorsoduro / Accademia
Artsy is the defining mood of this neighborhood with street artists, students, painters, sculptors, restorers, curators, historians, collectors, heirs and heiresses rubbing elbows. Peggy Guggenheim's collection, now a museum, lures chic locals for evening art aperitifs. Traditionalists and visionaries cocoon in bohemian luxury. La Salute basilica buttresses the neighborhood to the east. Gondolas bob in the morning light. The Accademia Bridge crosses the Grand Canal. A back street doubles as basketball court. Palaces house residents, or like Ca' Foscari a university, or a museum like Ca’ Rezzonico that attracts Venetians for concerts. Dorsoduro reveals its industrial roots too, in buildings converted to house university departments or exhibitions. Campo Santa Margherita bursts with youthful energy from local students. Foot traffic bustles to and from Piazzale Roma and Santa Lucia train station. Evening commuters pause for an aperitivo. Neighbors exchange confidants in a campo (square) on their way to market.
