Built with marble bricks. View of canal. Close to grand canal. Not a tourist trap. Nice snacks. Buy wine by the bottle. Intimate.

Typical little bar for Venice but with an excellent location opposite a Gondola yard for that added atmosphere. With 2.50 Euro prosecco, 3 Euro Spritz and 1.25 - 2.50 Euro crostino (toasted bread with fresh toppings of fish, cooked meats and all kinds of fresh creations) this is an excellent stop off. We went here every day just to sit... More

We loved the drinks we had here en route to a nearby restaurant. The local wine was fantastic and the service friendly. The only downside was at this place if you drank outside you had to use plastic cups :) Well worth checking out especially on a nice evening :)

we stayed 2 nights in venice and my husband and I were determined not to be stuck to fancy restaurants , trattorias or so. We headed there via Saint Stefanos' square, which is a beautiful place and we wouldn't go there otherwise. Apart from its location by a canal, Osteria Al Squero is worth every positive review. At first, We had... More

We did have three days in Venice and enjoyed all three days at least 2 hours here. Try the Amarone vine which is my favorite while my wife enjoyed the Prosecco. The Crostinis are extremly nice! In front of the bar is a "garage" for gondolas... The cool thing for us to enjoy the stay was the passion of the... More

This was the best wine & snack bar I went to during my stay in Venice. There are so many different wines to choose, the nibbles are delicious and prices very low. But keep in mind that it's a snack bar, not a restaurant, so seating is limited. However, it is located by the canal so I would recommend to... More

i found this small but chic bar while i was wondering around the streets, The view is lovely, the service was nice too, and also cheap. Great place to stop and relax your feet, have a drink and a snack.

In the City that never disappoints, another great bar opposite the Gondola menders on Dursodoro. Spritz at €2 euros a glass and the most fantastic chichetti - you don't need any big dinner after you have been here.. Just graze and quaff.

Tiny, perfectly situated bar right across from boat yard in Dorsoduro. It was a quiet little escape from the rain, even though it looks popular with tourists. It's just basically a few bar stools and a shared bench for larger parties. They really sell two things - breads with spreads and small sandwiches. We got a plate of the breads... More

Staying in Dorsoduro / Accademia

Neighborhood Profile
Dorsoduro / Accademia
Artsy is the defining mood of this neighborhood with street artists, students, painters, sculptors, restorers, curators, historians, collectors, heirs and heiresses rubbing elbows. Peggy Guggenheim's collection, now a museum, lures chic locals for evening art aperitifs. Traditionalists and visionaries cocoon in bohemian luxury. La Salute basilica buttresses the neighborhood to the east. Gondolas bob in the morning light. The Accademia Bridge crosses the Grand Canal. A back street doubles as basketball court. Palaces house residents, or like Ca' Foscari a university, or a museum like Ca’ Rezzonico that attracts Venetians for concerts. Dorsoduro reveals its industrial roots too, in buildings converted to house university departments or exhibitions. Campo Santa Margherita bursts with youthful energy from local students. Foot traffic bustles to and from Piazzale Roma and Santa Lucia train station. Evening commuters pause for an aperitivo. Neighbors exchange confidants in a campo (square) on their way to market.
