The only coffee roaster in Venice. Says it all really. They know coffee beans and they make a good coffee. If you get a moment to chat with staff they have great knowledge, that's if there is a moment. Its pretty busy. We were in Venice for 4 days and we tried many places. We always came back here later... More

While in Venice on a rainy day in early January, I was on the lookout for a cafe to warm up in. I found Torrefazione Cannaregio on TripAdvisor and decided it was the cafe to go to. It has an awesome atmosphere - very relaxed and inviting. There were no tables or chairs, but only a bar to eat a... More

Stumbled across this place while exploring Venice. Nowhere to sit, it is a place to have a coffee at the bar, or to buy coffee to take home. Truly excellent espresso.

Had cafe latte & danish here each of our 3 days in Venice...the best we had in Italy. The location has changed about 200 ft & is now on a main "street" Rio Tera S. Leonardo

This must be the best coffee bar in Venice as it was impossible, on three attempts, to get in! It seemed to be permanently heaving with customers - not surprising given the delicious smell of roasting coffee coming from it.

I love this place truly. The coffee is so good and the staff really friendly. It is a traditional Venician coffee shop meaning you drink standing up as there is no seating and it is a little crowded but once you taste the coffee you don't mind in the slightest. The moretti (not sure if I spelt that right) was... More

Small and busy little shop in a cool neighborhood away from the inner Venice madness . Wide variety of coffee to choose from. Must stop by if you're in the area !

We were lucky to stay across the square. We came by here everyday after being introduced by our apartment host who claimed that this place is his favorite coffee place in Venice. At the end of our Venice trip, we bought few packets of coffee bean as souvenirs and are currently enjoying every sip of coffee. Our only regret is... More

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighborhood Profile
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighborhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
