Very much a standard Italian, rather than Venetian restaurant, which may explain why the evening we were there the majority of the clientele were Venetian! Warm welcome on a cold night. Good caprese and bruschetta, and better pizza than you usually get in Venice. Good house wine that was good value.

Location was great but the menu disappointing as there was no local food on it! We even asked the waiter if there were any local specials of the day "no". If you just want to eat quite good Italian food then fine but if you want to taste something typical from Venice then you are out of luck.

We found ourselves on the Zattere on a cold November night, and were suddenly hungry! Beyond pizza and gelato, choices are limited, so we ducked into Terrazza dei Nobili, drawn in by typical Venerian charm of warm lights and old black and white photos. We were welcomed by a gracious waiter and by the new owner, who is there most... More

We only came for a glass of wine and were happy to be accepted here after being told to go somewhere else in "Da Gianni" a few meters away. Staff was friendly and the wine was good. We can't judge the food though.

Family type restaurant. It was recommended. Nothing fancy but very good tasty food. Great pasta! Limited wine selection at least the night I ate there..

Lunch was dreadful, the mixed salad mediocre (since you mix you own oil and vinegar, it is hard to really mess up the dish but they almost did). Spaghetti with clam sauce may have been home made but was reminiscent. Of the times I tried unsuccessfully to make spaghetti. Water and wine glasses had to be covered with napkins to... More

We got right in around 630pm (other places close until 7pm), we had heard pizza wasn't good in Venice, but we really liked it. Great flavor, we just ordered pepperoni and mushroom. The caprese salad was great. It was probably our least expensive meal in Venice, and we loved it.

Watching the sunset over the Giudecca Canal from the Fondamenta Zattere was the perfect setting for our third night in Venice. With an Aperol Spritz in hand we enjoyed the busy waterfront and the balmy air. Food and service were excellent - especially enjoyed a seafood spaghetti mélange - lightly sauced and seasoned. Reserve for first line waterfront dining. Easy... More

We were treated to a spectacular sunset at the edge of the lagoon opposite Giudecca and the Salut. We ate outside but tables inside were packed and lively...looked like discerning locals but maybe just tourists in the know.

Staying in Dorsoduro / Accademia

Neighborhood Profile
Dorsoduro / Accademia
Artsy is the defining mood of this neighborhood with street artists, students, painters, sculptors, restorers, curators, historians, collectors, heirs and heiresses rubbing elbows. Peggy Guggenheim's collection, now a museum, lures chic locals for evening art aperitifs. Traditionalists and visionaries cocoon in bohemian luxury. La Salute basilica buttresses the neighborhood to the east. Gondolas bob in the morning light. The Accademia Bridge crosses the Grand Canal. A back street doubles as basketball court. Palaces house residents, or like Ca' Foscari a university, or a museum like Ca’ Rezzonico that attracts Venetians for concerts. Dorsoduro reveals its industrial roots too, in buildings converted to house university departments or exhibitions. Campo Santa Margherita bursts with youthful energy from local students. Foot traffic bustles to and from Piazzale Roma and Santa Lucia train station. Evening commuters pause for an aperitivo. Neighbors exchange confidants in a campo (square) on their way to market.
