The patio overlooking the canal cannot be beat. Flower boxes and white table cloths make this a lovely spot to enjoy the sun going down. The food was decent and there was a menu in multiple languages though as a Canadian I had to think about rocket (some type of lettuce) and it was speck on both... read more

Probably one of the most romantic outdoor dinners I have ever had. Excellent service and a sunset view to die for. In one of the lesser tourist areas. Lobster very well prepared and recommendation on the wine perfect. If you want to impress your date book a table for sunset. 100 euros for a couple and a bargain. Constantine offered... More

Situated on the sea side of Academia which is probably one of the least touristy areas, we always return to this restaurant and it has never let us down. If its warm and sunny eat on the terrace built out over the water. Food is excellent ranging from traditional fish courses to grilled meats to pizzas/pastas - all very reasonably... More

Enjoyed the food & view greatly. when we first sat down (where waiter asked us to sit), it made it hard for people to get by. The waiter said to someone in English "sorry we have tourists here." Really? Don't seat us somewhere & then apologize for us. but there was a mix up with the menu which they handled... More

It's true what they say about venice. The further you get from San Marco, the better the food. So true with this place. Finally z place where you are really looked after. As a restaurant manager myself I really couldn't fault the place. Would definitely recommend

Just a short review to say that the food was excellent, the service impeccable and the price was totally as expected for the standard of the restaurant.

It has been a while since my visit, but my mind always wonders back to this restaurant, which I visited twice during a 4 day stint in Venice (I had to go back for a 'last meal'). I was dinning solo, which can sometimes invite a prickly demeanor from busy restaurants, but not so with the friendly staff at Casin... More

Amazing location, most friendly and professional staff, delicious food, though quite pricey and small portions as if in some Michelin establishment.

Fab seafood risotto that was reasonably priced particularly given the amazing location of this restaurant. We only wanted a light meal so the staff were happy for us to share one meal between two of us. Not only that they presented eat half separately with exquisite style. So sorry we only ate here once for our last meal before coming... More

Staying in Dorsoduro / Accademia

Neighborhood Profile
Dorsoduro / Accademia
Artsy is the defining mood of this neighborhood with street artists, students, painters, sculptors, restorers, curators, historians, collectors, heirs and heiresses rubbing elbows. Peggy Guggenheim's collection, now a museum, lures chic locals for evening art aperitifs. Traditionalists and visionaries cocoon in bohemian luxury. La Salute basilica buttresses the neighborhood to the east. Gondolas bob in the morning light. The Accademia Bridge crosses the Grand Canal. A back street doubles as basketball court. Palaces house residents, or like Ca' Foscari a university, or a museum like Ca’ Rezzonico that attracts Venetians for concerts. Dorsoduro reveals its industrial roots too, in buildings converted to house university departments or exhibitions. Campo Santa Margherita bursts with youthful energy from local students. Foot traffic bustles to and from Piazzale Roma and Santa Lucia train station. Evening commuters pause for an aperitivo. Neighbors exchange confidants in a campo (square) on their way to market.
