Italian Restaurant, Venice

Perfect location on the edge of the water near San Basilio cruise ship terminal. Tables outside under a roof with open sides, & inside the main restaurant building. Good menu selection. I had pizza Prosciutto e Funghi (ham & mushroom) plus local Italian draft beer, & finished with dessert... read more

Unless soggy pizza overwhelmed by the metallic taste of canned mushrooms is your idea of a good lunch, just walk right past this place. Awful.

Tourist trap. Service is 0. They served us the first dish as we were having our main dish, result was that our table was full of dished. I turned the dishes back yet we had to pay for all of them. Lots of better places in Venice. They also charge you 1EUR pp for the music, as we were 2... More

We walked by this place on our first night in Venice. We had the choice of dining indoors or outside. We chose the floating dining area and were treated to an amazing sunset view. The waiters were very friendly, prompt service and pizza was great.

The good part is the view and the cool evening breeze along the lagoon. Not so good was the food and the service and the prices. Everything is overpriced and the food is forgettable. Before the meal, the bread was grocery store Italian bread and processed breadsticks. My ravioli was processed store-bought pasta. The waiters were not terribly interested in... More

84 EUR x 2 pass and the food was scarce and bad. I had to grab the menus by my own, after waiting 15 minutes for the waiter.

Located right on the river, the restaurant offers great views and is not super touristy. Nothing special on the menu, but a plate of buffalo mozzarella and a pizza with bresola and parmesan were honest and not too overpriced. Service is friendly though a bit distracted.

like all the water fronted restaurants, food is very pricey. But, throw in the view, the service, the wine and the atmos, you can't really complain.

The terrace outside the restautant has a great view. But the service is not so nice and the food I really didn't like. It was supposed to be a pasta with tomato sauce and cheese but...where was the cheese? And it was really greasy. The waiters disn't even asked me if I want olive oil or something similar and the... Staying in Dorsoduro / Accademia

Neighborhood Profile
Dorsoduro / Accademia
Artsy is the defining mood of this neighborhood with street artists, students, painters, sculptors, restorers, curators, historians, collectors, heirs and heiresses rubbing elbows. Peggy Guggenheim's collection, now a museum, lures chic locals for evening art aperitifs. Traditionalists and visionaries cocoon in bohemian luxury. La Salute basilica buttresses the neighborhood to the east. Gondolas bob in the morning light. The Accademia Bridge crosses the Grand Canal. A back street doubles as basketball court. Palaces house residents, or like Ca' Foscari a university, or a museum like Ca’ Rezzonico that attracts Venetians for concerts. Dorsoduro reveals its industrial roots too, in buildings converted to house university departments or exhibitions. Campo Santa Margherita bursts with youthful energy from local students. Foot traffic bustles to and from Piazzale Roma and Santa Lucia train station. Evening commuters pause for an aperitivo. Neighbors exchange confidants in a campo (square) on their way to market.
