We found this amazing Gelateria in the backstreets of central Venice (whilst lost!) and we're so glad we did as the ice-cream was absolutely amazing………… Despite the fact that this Gelareria has no seating area, the queue of people waiting to be served told us it would be 'worth waiting for' and we were not disappointed!! Next time we're in... More

We went based on recommendation by Frommer's. Found this place using a gps (most useful tool for Venice). We had green apple, pink grapefruit and hazelnut. Best gelato we had.

While this place is not on the beaten path, you really should seek it out if you enjoy good gelato. They are not open late which is a downer but when they are open they serve very tasty creations of freshly made gelato that are calorie worthy.

We went there 2 times in the 2 days we were there (and it was really out of our way the second day) despite there being Gelato shops EVERYWHERE. We had gelato on the Amalfi Coast and in Florence on this same trip, this was by far the best. I had vanilla and 'Squirrels Paradise' (a nut mix I believe)... More

We were recommended this ice cream shop during our visit to Venice, and am really glad we sought it out. It is a small shop, run by a really chatty, friendly man, (fluent in English) with an interesting range of homemade ice cream. The choices vary each day according to what they have made, but they make (amongst many) lots... More

Great ice cream for the usual price. Every taste we tried was near perfect or perfect. It's worthwhile to search for this nice ice cream shop.

We tried Grom and Chez Nico, but La Mela Verde was the best. They have a better range of natural fruit flavours than anywhere else we found in Venice. If you can find your way to San Zaccaria church then you're not far away. It is definitely worth a visit for great gelato.

Our return visit to Venice would not have been complete without a trip to Mela Verde. We had been three years ago and were haunted by the memories of perfect gelato. However, this time we though that though they maintained an exceptionally high standard, there were fewer outstanding flavours to draw us in. We really missed the stunning Violet and... More

A must to delight your palate. The combination is so fresh with just enough balance of each ingredient. I've been here three times in two weeks , even my Venezian friend has become an a fan. I have another 10 days to enjoy other flavors! Makes my mouth happy!

While walking and walking in Venice, we decided to stop for a refreshing gelato. And it was a wise choice... It is AMAZING gelato, and you can taste the quality ingredients.. we tried several types, but the best the "Mela Verde" -- Green Apple. You can taste the pieces of green apple in the gelato...Yummy!
