I went there with my husband and baby today and ended up with 6 scoops of gelato! Lemon/mint/basil; pink grapefruit; lemon; cherry; chocolate; and ricotta & pistachio - all were the right creaminess without it being too sweet. The ricotta & pistachio, lemon mint basil, and pink grapefruit were my favourites. The worst was cherry which somehow tasted like Dairy... More

I went there on basis of these reviews - I was disappointed. Rather limited choice of straightforward flavours - not the best I've had in Venice and nothing like as good as La Gelateria in London, which does interesting and unusual combinations as well as standards like pistachio etc. Shame they don't provide any seating by the canal. Staff did... More

La Mela Verde has so many delicious flavors it's hard to choose, but the pistacchio is without doubt the king. The prices are the average prices for Venetian gelaterias - 2.5 Euros for two flavors. We tried during our stays in Venice many flavors, and usually the sorbets were a bit less amazing then the others, although still very good... More

Yes, there are hundreds of small stands with gelato all over Venice. If you're looking for the best (and the only one truly worth searching for) wind your way through a few alleyways in San Marco to find La Mela Verde. I have tried gelato all over Italy and the Mediterranean and this is by far the best. Local ingredients,... More

I ate here a few times whilst in Venice, good gelato but not the best I have had in Italy. Probably the best in Venice though! The cioccolato was very smooth with just the right amount of bitterness to it. Melt in your mouth goodness. Not so impressed with their signature mela verde (green apple) flavour though. Each to their... More

OH MY GOODNESS!!! Seriously...this is a tiny, little gelateria along a very small & charming canal with the MOST incredible gelato that I tasted in Italy. The nocciola and the dark chocolate will leave you feeling euphoric. I realize that it seems like I'm exaggerating....but...I'm not. When in Venice, do not leave without tasting La Mela Verde's gelato...Ciao!

The green apple and the chocolate gelato tasted so good. It is worth the walk. Also quite cheap. You should never leave Venice without trying La Mela Verde! :)

Ice cream is quite literally my favorite food, and given the rave reviews here on TA, La Mela Verde was high on my list of places to visit. I had 3 flavors: zabaglione, vanilla/almond/cherry, and cremino. Was it good? Obviously. It was gelato in Italy. Was it the best of our trip? No, that was found in Sicily. Worth it... More

My wife and I had A LOT gelato while we were in Italy, but there were only two places truly worth mentioning. Gelateria del Teatro in Rome, and La Mela Verde. The gelato was exquisitely flavored, the perfect temperature and texture (not the run of the mill stuff you'd find in more touristy parts of the city), and there was... More
