Tasty lunch at Dorsoduro

We came across this restaurant while walking through the Dorsoduro area, we were very hungry and tired of the walking. The day menu looked interesting for 17€ and the lady waiter came outside to great us. The house wine was ok but the food was very tasty, well presented and the waitress very... read more

We came back twice to this restaurant for the Margherita pizza! It was AMAZING! The base was perfect. I wish I had their recipe to recreate it at home, cause I don't know when I'll next get to Venice. The bruschetta was really good. The venue was clean, but the tables are a little cramped next to each other, but... More

Lunch here was the best meal we had in Venice. Partly this was on account of the great seafood, and partly on account of how nice they were to our two-year-old. We are glad we ran across this place.

Great pizza and wine! Strolled by on our way toward Piazza Roma to catch the bus....what a great find! The pizzas were fresh, hot, crisp and delicious while the vinni della casa was tasty and drinkable and perfect-just what we wanted this holiday eve. Very happy with the service, quality and price definitely would go back again and dig into... More

We loved this small place in Venice. Not a lot of tables, so reservations are a must. Delicious food (but only order the Treasures of the Adriatic if you aren't squeamish about heads being on your food). Everything was local and fresh and the staff was lovely. They helped with wine recommendations for a table with a vegetarian, someone getting... More

We went twice to this restaurant, because it was close to our hotel and we were very tired in the evening. The food is very nice and fresh prepared and still compared to the typical restaurants at the Grand Canal affordable. The wait staff is friendly and accommodating. If you choose a good bottle of wine however you have to... More

Small restaurant good food waiter not too friendly at first but improves with time. One of the best bass I had in Venice. My husband said liver was best he ever had. We will return.

We stumbled accross this wee place on the typical endless walking and getting lost that seems the norm in Venice. After standing outside for a few minutes "debating" the menu and whether we wanted to keep getting lost, a very kind waitress stepped out and asked if we were ok and if we wanted to come in. She made us... More

Waiter was very bad and angry. They were asking everyone who try to use the toilet and waiter said we should say please. They need to learn how to be a waiter don't need to teach me how to be a person. Very bad behaviour.

The restaurant insisted on charging us an extra $4 for "service cost" for 2 people, despite me not eating anything. Not only that, but the door clearly stated that they accept credit card, but they insisted cash and would not let me pay with credit card.

Staying in Dorsoduro / Accademia

Neighborhood Profile
Dorsoduro / Accademia
Artsy is the defining mood of this neighborhood with street artists, students, painters, sculptors, restorers, curators, historians, collectors, heirs and heiresses rubbing elbows. Peggy Guggenheim's collection, now a museum, lures chic locals for evening art aperitifs. Traditionalists and visionaries cocoon in bohemian luxury. La Salute basilica buttresses the neighborhood to the east. Gondolas bob in the morning light. The Accademia Bridge crosses the Grand Canal. A back street doubles as basketball court. Palaces house residents, or like Ca' Foscari a university, or a museum like Ca’ Rezzonico that attracts Venetians for concerts. Dorsoduro reveals its industrial roots too, in buildings converted to house university departments or exhibitions. Campo Santa Margherita bursts with youthful energy from local students. Foot traffic bustles to and from Piazzale Roma and Santa Lucia train station. Evening commuters pause for an aperitivo. Neighbors exchange confidants in a campo (square) on their way to market.
