I stopped in this restaurant for to have a beer. The place look very nice but I paid 6€ for a beer, it's too expensive in my opinion, also in Venice.

We visited this place very late at night & after a very stressful arrival into Venice. The prices of the menu caught our attention so we decided to stay & eat. I got the two course meal for 18€ with spaghetti & clams & the squid & polenta with a beer. The spaghetti was ok with a few clams unopened... More

This little place was moments from the Grand Canal but so far from the hustle of Venice in August. The menu del dia was €18 and plenty filling; it also included a drink. The food was lovely, no complaints with anything we chose (the house red wine was almost sparkling, and like a lot of Europe, came chilled!). A delightful... More

We strolled behind our hotel to find a cute little café/restaurant. Food was very good and we enjoyed sitting outside taking in the atmosphere. They had a special the night we were there which included an appetizer, entrée and wine for a decent price.

We were searching for some small restaurant where we could eat both pizza\pasta and some seafood with my husband. Very pleasant staff advised us as for the menu (we were searching octopuses). We had "cicchetti" for 1 person which is small variety of seafood, just to try not to satisfy your hunger) and pizza. Both foods were good as well... More

fantàsia is first of all a project: they want in facts to give a working chance to some disabled people, and they actually do - which in our opinion is a very good idea. said that, as a restaurant is a no-frills trattoria, including pizza and widescreen for football lovers, with a certain attention to food in terms of quality... Service very good and value for money. Only disappointing thing is you could smell the cigerate smoking coming from outside the restaurant as dinners lite up after a meal. Unfortunately this is a common thing in Europe.

This fantastic restaurant seems to have been set up to assist people with intellectual disabilities to work, from what we could tell from the newspaper clipping we read while in the restaurant. On top of that, the food is good, drinks are generous, very good value for money and great service. The staff were very kind to us and our... More

Staying in Castello

Neighborhood Profile
Castello
Castello is the largest of the six sestieri (districts), and the only one not facing onto the Grand Canal. More than half of Castello is situated within Arsenale, the naval base, which occupies over one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime neighborhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals criss-crossed by laundry. Semiannual exhibitions add a strong artsy current to the Arsenale area. Via Garibaldi in Castello, with its shops and bars, has one of Venice's rare straight and wide boulevards. When a large ship turns around the Lido to enter the Giudecca Canal, the startling sight creates an illusion that it will run aground right on Via Garibaldi! Families treasure Giardini near the island's tip, green with rare trees and grass, and Riva degli Schiavoni is a popular spot for Venetians to take a stroll to watch the sunset.
