Right in the heart of Venice, between Santa Lucia train station and the Rialto Bridge, and just a few steps away from the Casino, you will find a restaurant where we have translated our welcoming philosophy into a concrete culinary experience: "La Colombina". There are numberless reasons to visit and revisit Venice, but now you can add one more: "La Colombina", a gastronomic experience inspired by tradition but also focused on contemporaneity. In short, a new "classic" ranging from traditional Venetian dishes to unique gourmet temptations going from aperitifs to lunches and special occasions. How to reach us: It's incredibly simple! From Piazzale Roma or the Santa Lucia train station follow the main street (Strada Nova) towards Ponte di Rialto (take a left when exiting the train station). In the "calle" (small street) just in front of the "Teatro Italia" you will find La Colombina. We are only 10 minutes away from the central station, just a few steps from the Casino and 10 minutes from the Rialto Bridge. La Colombina is also conveniently adjacent to a "Vaporetto" stop (San Marcuola, Linea 1) and is centrally located and ideally very close to Venice's main attractions.

Hotel Recommended & they were right to!

Wife & I enjoyed a very pleasant evening. Staff very attentive, helpful & clearly valued our custom....the opposite of some dining experiences in the City! This restaurant is the best find I have found in Venice! I've eaten in several during my visits but none compare to this one. The food is genuine and the owners plus staff are very friendly and they go the extra step to make your meal enjoyable. All the dishes I tried were out of this world with flavor and... More

I was in Venice for 3 months and visited this restaurant for every occasion! It is smart and the food is amazing, but the prices are particularly low for what you get (and for food in Venice!). The owner will talk to you and suggest wines for different meals, and also will alter the menu if you have requirements. When... More

We decided to try this restaurant because of the positive reviews and the fact it was only a 10 minute stroll from Ca' Gottardi. We arrived at 730pm to an empty restaurant. We were greeted as if we were royalty and chose to sit outside on the quiet courtyard. Menus and drinks were sorted, with the owner more than happy... More

Had diner at this restaurant last night. Simply put, the diner was fantastic ! The tuna tartare was excellent, the scallops au gratin where out of this world. We had diner outside on the patio, felt like we were alone in the world. The service was excellent, could not be more polite. In a sea of tourist place in Venice,... More

Stumbled upon this place when it was closed mid-afternoon on arrival in Venice and in search of my hotel and after reading some reviews, decided it was worth a visit for dinner. It turned out to be the best meal I've had in Venice! The service was excellent. Staff are friendly and keen to ensure you're happy with your selections.... More

We got lost and couldn't find another restaurant good rated here and by surprise we found this gem. Very reasonable price for a menu in the lunch. The waiter was extremely helpful and pleasant. We do recommend for families without children or couples.

Ate here my first night in Venice. Was warmly welcomed and offered a choice of seating inside or out. I had the Sea bass with crusted zucchini. It was more covered than "crusted", but delicious never the less. The Soave wine was a good accompaniment. For dessert I hade the cooked and red wine, which was a perfect amount.

We ate at this lovely restaurant after our hotel recommended it. Tucked away, this little gem really lived up to the reviews on TA. 3 gorgeous courses, great staff and good value for money. Would definitely recommend to people trying to get away from the mediocre tourist traps!

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighborhood Profile
Cannaregio
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighborhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
