A fresh tribute to Venetian cuisine, Restaurant Club del Doge welcomes guests in an intimate and elegant setting, which moves outdoors onto its Grand Canal Terrace from April until October. The atmosphere is casual chic by day and a more formal affair in the evenings. At its helm, Executive Chef Daniele Turco will tantalize your senses with epicurean delights that celebrate the best of local seasonal ingredients, from signature risottos to traditional cicchetti and seafood platters.

Excellent food, service and ambience!!!

For the 15 years we have stayed at The Hotel Gritti Palace, we have always eaten one dinner at their Club Del Doge restaurant. This year, July 2015 was the best ever!!! As always service was impeccable. The view overlooking the Grand Canal and Santa Maria Della Salute is magical. This time the... read more

We love Venice, we've been many times, so we understand as well as anyone that, the closer you are to Piazza San Marco the price of food goes up whilst the quality generally goes down. Having said that, we fell foul of that very rule when we ate at Club del Doge. I looked at the website and the menu... More

Food was not very good for the price, but view was AMAZING! We sat outside on the water around 8pm / sunset, and it was surreal. Sooo romantic.

Ten of us went for a special 50th Birthday. Outside on the decking in the Grand canal does not get much better. The food and service was excellent. The Chicettit and steak are fabulous. Highly recommend if you want a really special meal in Venice

My husband and I booked this restaurant in advance, we heard it was recommendable. We like restaurants with a nice terrace next to the water. In Venice, you have many options, but this view was something we didn't experienced yet in Venice. It's a classical restaurant, also as The Gritti hotel, which it belongs to. We knew this would be... I don't think the location of this restaurant, outside the Gritti Palace, could be bettered, right by the Grand Canal. The menu is a little limited but the food we had was truly excellent with attentive and good humoured service. We had advised that our trip was celebrating my wife's 60th birthday and they came through with a delightful cake... More

The restaurant is on the ground floor of the Gritti Palace. Inside are several very lovely formal dining rooms in a style consistent with the hotel. The deck outside provides a great view of the buildings along the canal and the bustling traffic on the water. Breakfast was included in our package and we ate it on the deck each... More

We enjoyed a picturesque dinner on the terrace, watching the sunset on the Grand Canal as the gondolas rowed by. Every course was beautifully presented and delicious, from the cicchetti to the cheese plate, and the service was impeccable. Spectacular experience!

We had a birthday dinner at the Club del Doge and were not disappointed by the setting. The terrace is absolutely beautiful, right on the Grand Canal, literally on water level, with a lovely church and palaces adorning the view across the water. Service was very polished - not at all obtrusive or pushy, always efficient and prompt. The food... More

If this restaurant is not in the The Gritti Palace, I would have rated this restaurant Very Good. However, because this IS the restaurant in The Gritti Palace, I expect almost perfection. If you don't want to read my whole review, come here for the view and you will not be disappointed. I will recommend it hands down. I had... More

Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
